Judging by the tiny people in the background, the police will be there shortly, so yeah.
Well, spoilers for one of the authors previous works
Dumbing of Age is basically a reboot of his previous comics, with everyone being college age students instead of superpowered secret agents or working at an impossible toy store. In the previous comics, Dina died, so my guess is Dina is going to be the one he chase after, catches up to and then gets busted by the police before he can pull the trigger.
I've heard Willis said somewhere that he has no plans for any of the DoA characters to die. Also, there's this textless preview-panel he drew for the DoA tumblr.
Oh right, DoA takes place in Bloomington down at IU. I forgot he went there. Its a way more fun place than the comic makes it out to be. I actually really wish I had gone to school there as opposed to Ball State. Nothing cool ever happens at Ball State.
Speaking of IU.

also i’m 80% sure this is the subway that jared lived in an apartment over, from which he lost many pounds as he rented pornography to others
you know which jared
After I learned he got his start in Indiana University, I did some frantic Google digging, and I read in a few places his dorm room was in Read Hall, aka WHERE I LIVED and WHERE DUMBING OF AGE HAPPENS, and that he’s just two years older than me, so either HE was there while *I* was there, or he moved out to live above that Subway the year before I went there AND MAYBE I GOT HIS SHITTY ROOM, WHAT IF I GOT HIS SHITTY ROOM, WHAT IF IT WAS HAUNTED BY THE BAD PORNS Someone else: That is 100% the apartments Jared used to live in. IU used to make a big deal out of it, I can’t tell you how many times I heard that trivia. Oddly enough, they’ve stopped talking about it nearly as much now.
As for "deceptress", I find it pretty believable. But it would have been even more believable if it was "Jezebel". Certain Christians love Jezebel as an insult.
whether or not toedad is caught, becky's presence in the dorm is blown; this is an elegant way to tie the plot threads together
as subtlety goes... well, Willis wrote robin as a congresswoman. Not as an avatar of congresspeople in general but as a Thing for the main cast to interact with and be interacted at.
You know what, substitute the gun for any weapon at all and it's still disturbing
Marty: The future, it's where you're going? Doc: That's right, twenty five years into the future. I've always dreamed on seeing the future, looking beyond my years, seeing the progress of mankind. I'll also be able to see who wins the next twenty-five world series.
Isn't a gun a threat of physical violence? Literally, just showing someone a gun to someone (especially someone you have a disagreement with) is super illegal.

The greatest sin of this shit with toe dad is that it isn't danny and ethan finally boning
heck, it'd be a more interesting story in general if instead of being an evil cartoon, Becky's Dad was a person who acting both angry and scared, actually worried about losing his daughter to something he doesn't understand and who lashes out because of that fear

that seems like one of those insults that the insulted party immediately adopts as a badge of honour
like "social justice warrior"
who doesn't want to be a painted jezebel? that sounds like a cool thing to be
I just don't think Becky's Dad pulling out a gun to possibly murder his lesbian daughter feels very organic to the story
I think it would make more sense if he were just chasing her down with the threat of physical violence to drag her back home
He's not going to murder his lesbian daughter.
He is going to murder the "oriental devil seductress" who seduced his daughter, then take his daughter back home to cure her with the power of the lord.
Isn't a gun a threat of physical violence? Literally, just showing someone a gun to someone (especially someone you have a disagreement with) is super illegal.
I would argue that a gun is not a threat of physical violence, it is a threat of death
guns are not a tool of corporal punishment, they are not designed to merely injure a person

well yeah but I'm saying I feel it would be more organic for him to threaten physical violence with his bare hands than with a killing weapon
The trick is, you are assuming he thinks of Dina as a person. To him, she is just a tool of the devil that needs to be dealt with.
Him using a rifle doesn't make it any less organic. He is not a sane rational person.
Things can be accurate to the real world but still not fit the world of your story very well. Though this fits pretty well with the standard Dumbing of Age method of drama, which is to go with the most heavy handed insane thing possible
I'm not going to stick up for the rest of Willis's stuff, but this actually is not that unbelievable of events / writing given the area the story takes place in.
What would be better for a dramatic comic, but would be out of place in this one, was for there to be an extra wide last panel shot from inside the trunk of his car looking up as he opens it, or at least have him fiddle around the interior. Cause here there's just a gun out of nowhere, which is such a jarring visual escalation that it loses effect.

I don't think we made half a fuss when Shiga posted a comic of Demon deliberately crashing a plane around the time of that German pilot.
People made a pretty big fuss about that, but no one expected better out of him in the first place. Also he is a print comic so he couldn't have changed it.

Weird. When I went to Ball State I lived in what was at the time the Honors dorms, 4th floor, room 14. When I came back and was working at a movie theater two of my employees went to Ball State and stayed in those same dorms, 3rd floor, room 14.

There are very much people like that in Indiana.
