I was not the one who planned this concert trip so I guess that ones on me but if these openers really wanted to get heir foot in the door id recommend being good bands instead of doing bad neutral milk hotel covers for 45 minutes
I don't have any major complaints about the end of dragon age 2 but the end of dragon age 2 is definitely the part of the game I've thought about the least, so that might have something to do with it

DA2 does a lot of things really well that I think Bioware could stand to try and replicate
the ending of da2 is like they tried to abruptly shift to a standard bioware story with an absolute baddie except all the writers were fighting for the wheel to steer it to a different baddie at the same time and they sped into all of them without taking a nice slow approach with the magic of pacing
There is good stuff in act 3, but I think it's the section of the game that got hit hardest by the time crunch, for sure. The companion quests wrap up pretty well, for the most part, and I think that everything leading up to what Anders does and everyone's immediate reactions to it are on point. The need to turn those into the climax of a video game causes some of the story beats to get a little fucked, yeah, but there are things I really like in Act 3.
I mean I guess I view heavily story driven games like I view gymnasts. In that if you do a bunch of dope flips but then land on your neck and shatter that C6 I'm not going to be thinking about much other than how you fucked up real bad on that end bit
also it leans the heaviest into mage/templar stuff which is a drum they have beat repeatedly every game and it's been the same drumbeat every time

it was the second game in the series, and the mage/templar stuff was only super prevalent in one section of the first game, and it faded away fairly quickly in inquisition

They resolve the conflict early on in Inquisition, but I think that's more due to the fact that Inquisition barely has any actual narrative inbetween the beginning and end of the game, it's clearly supposed to be a plot thread throughout the entire game.
that said i actually don't like trash talking da2 that much because like, the internet at large has a pretty poor view of it and there's not a lot of places you can have a pleasant discussion about it without shitheads running in to piss on it

The one thing I want to see all games with any kind of dialogue system steal from DA2 is using your dialogue choices to create a sort of baseline personality for your character.

But open worlds seen to be what everyone is demanding these days so I don't expect we'll see that sort of unique design again out of a DA4.
