Hey hey hey! We are ditching the one-thread-per-candidate thing and consolidating the primary threads into two flavors!

This is the Republican flavor - it tastes of gunpowder and liberty and hair product. Talk about Trump, or Carson, or Rubio, or those other guys who are hanging around the debate halls for some reason.

(Note that we will still have separate threads whenever a debate rolls around.)

Geth would be an awful choice. You work as hard as you can to campaign for them, getting them to come to the debate table with former enemies and seek legitimate compromise that benefits everyone, and then after its all said and done the best option for the country also kills them. Rendering everything you've done meaningless.

And then afterwords you're left sitting there wandering what the hell the point was, and if the people that funded the campaign in the first place even thought that far ahead or realized what they were doing.

Except this is what happened earlier:

At the last Republican presidential debate, Carson told the audience “the Chinese” are operating in Syria, a declaration met with criticism by some foreign policy experts. National Security Advisor Susan Rice rebutted Carson’s claim, telling reporters the U.S. has no evidence of Chinese involvement in Syria.

In an effort to back up his statement, Carson said China supplies “a lot of military equipment, and they supply radar equipment and sophisticated monitoring systems” to Syria.

In a separate interview, Carson told reporters his campaign would release “some material on” China’s operations in Syria. “I have several sources that I’ve gotten material from. I’m surprised my sources are better than [the Obama administration’s],” Carson said.

I'm not sure Carson has any more mental health problems than your run of the mill evangelical narcissist, he's just the one capturing the current GOP zeitgeist. If he weren't running, it would be Santorum or Cruz or some other nutter.

Carson just isn't the kind of person who needs to run for president. He's the kind of person who should be on Dr. Oz selling snake oil to gullible bible thumpers.

2 out of 3 GOP voters prefer a candidate that is ignorant of the duties of the office and has no experience.


That in and of itself isn't JEB's fault, or any of the other candidates'.

It should be noted that after the December debate, or perhaps before then, the primary race will settle down for a good while for the holidays and won't pick back up until it's almost time for Iowa and New Hampshire. So whatever we're seeing now might not fluctuate as much as before unless something pivotal happens.

He's been a governor. His whole family is ass-deep in Washington politics. The only ignorance he could parlay is that which he comes by honestly.

He doesn't actually link Saddam and Al Qaeda in that article. He only says they were both not existential threats.

It'd be nice for him to say how he thinks ISIS could destroy the US.
