The Game Gear Power Rangers had the best versus variety of any PR game of its time. You could even play as Battle Mode Dragonzord, which was unheard of.
I remember playing a lot of Sonic Drift as a kid. Got a lot of mileage out of Sonic Triple Trouble, too, which had this gem of a BGM in the train level:
I think the game gear had the master system version of Sonic 2, and as I recall if you beat it without getting all of the chaos emeralds Tails fucking dies.

Apparently Microsoft has done some fuckery to this English port too. The battlepass is unique to it and also scratch card drop rates are worse than the JP version.
If it had just been slightly smaller than original size and had all of those games for $50, and you could just pick from assorted colors, this could've been fun.
So what SEGA is actually announcing is new technology for arcades, to help reduce latency and the like as cabinets increasingly become online focised, as well as potentially offer home play options

You look up to the sky and it shows an image of Tails in the clouds yes.

10.62 million Game Gears were sold. Do people have nostalgia for it?
I had a Game Gear and the only game I remember owning was that one where you were a ninja and you could use powers to change color and it gave you different abilities depending on what color you were.
Sounds like The GG Shinobi, which is also on one of these Game Gear Micros, and it can be had for cheap on the 3DS eShop, which is where I got it.
(And you change between different ninjas who have different abilities, btw.)
Like Mega Man Legends? Then check out my story, Legends of the Halcyon Era - An Adventure in the World of Mega Man Legends on TMMN and AO3!
I want the tiniest 160 × 144 screen possible. I want it to be literally unplayable without a strong magnifying glass accessory like the one they are making for the Game Gear Micro
Well it wouldnt be a game gear without stupid add ons

I mean, someone's going to come in and post a picture of the 'handy boy' accessory for the original Gameboy, and I just want to preemptively point out that Nintendo did not make that.
I remember playing a side scrolling X-Men game on the game gear that I was never able to beat cause the fucking batteries would die near the end of the game.

The nomad was pretty useful for long trips or vacations where you couldn’t bring the genesis with you.
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
I was just looking at my Master System with Alex Kidd built in the other day. I only had that and Space Harrier, so I played it a ton.

I didn’t own an actual genesis controller with six buttons so the only way I could beat comix zone was by using the flipping nomad

I have a burning hatred for it and the time wasted playing phantom 2040 if that counts
It had a shining force game that I liked a lot.

Oh man, and Tails Adventure! The Sonic universe's bizarre foray into the Metroidvania genre.
maybe it's a really big hand
it sure is a free to play mmo!
There's 4 colors of the Game Gear Micro, each has 4 different games
In total, about $45-46 for each, so $180 for 16 Game Gear games
In short: lmao

So how many seconds before it is hacked to have all those games on one?

there's a yakoozie 7 spoiler in that btw, for anyone wanting to avoid
That's the thing about hacking.... It already is
It's so bad.
they need to remake the sega nomad
make the screen and buttons tiny but still have a slot for full-size cartridges , the worst of all possible worlds
Was that the one that ran off 6 AA batteries, and they would last for maybe 20 minutes of playtime?
Though the Nomad also had similar battery problems, the main butt of the Sega portable battery life joke was the Game Gear.
yes it was a piece of shit, pretty valuable to collectors nowadays though especially if you still have said battery pack/its complete
we only had one because my parents, who were already pro-video games, thought it was super cool and that we had to have one
I only ever used it plugged in via a/c adapter. great portable device

Holy shit you beat Comix Zone? Was that harder than passing the bar?
Only 3 living people have beat comix zone.
2 of them were Jesus
