So in my last class I had conversation with a guy about how no the Nazis aren't alright for like 20 minutes and then not 5 minutes later a girl(the one who makes up stuff all the time) exploded at someone for being "sexist". He showed her a funny commercial and when she said it wasn't funny he said something along the lines of "I guess you just don't get it". She proceeded to whisper yell at him for being sexist that just because she was a girl she wouldn't get football for like a full minute until I stepped over and explained he didn't mean it like that at all.
In the end the dude just said "Yes everything that he((meaning me)) just said" to her and she just sat down still kinda rambling about how it was sexist because she knows the guy better.
I'm prepared for the possibility that the guy was in fact being sexist

I did just realize that they screwed up when they were putting the chart together tho - the colors (and maybe the brands?) are in the wrong order on two of the lines
also the line is blue behind burger king but the circle itself is red
The following chart places 49 common brands on a political spectrum based on the percentage of their brick-and-mortar stores that are located in Democratic or Republican districts.
It's basically just a list of "chains in the Plains/South/rural areas" vs "chains in urban areas"
I don't really see the issue
the chart gives you a snapshot of the kind of places that rural conservatives shop at and liberal urbanites shop at
I mean I agree it doesn't really mean much. it's just for fun.
I did just realize that they screwed up when they were putting the chart together tho - the colors (and maybe the brands?) are in the wrong order on two of the lines
The issue is that they try to get you to infer something about the company's political leanings based on their locations.
Which isn't really a good way to do it, because most of it is just an accident of geography related to where they were founded.

I've had an aloe plant for the last eight years at this job. It's an aloe tree at this point. I've also got a piece of bamboo/river cane that keep trying to break two feet tall despite me keeping it in a smallish vase with no dirt and just water for the roots that's about five years old.
Growing plants at home though? They all die. I don't get it.

is there no end to this chartmaker's perfidy
It looks like it was crafted by someone who has only heard about charts, but has never seen one.

My grandma still gives me a christmas gift from Belk every year.
Thankfully she knows my size so I never have to return it. This year I did get a pretty slick hoodie sweatshirt.

I over heard 90% of the conversation(I was like 3 seats down) and he really did just say 'I don't think you get it, it's to do with football'. He didn't imply it had anything to do with her being a girl, just that maybe she didn't get the joke because you had to know more about football in-jokes.

It was the one where the bride throws her flowers over her shoulder and one of the bride's maids makes a diving one handed catch to get it and some football players comment on whether or not she was in bounds.

The thing about implications is that they don't have to be explicitly stated. The very act of a guy/girl convo re: the girl not getting football invokes cultural assumptions of the girl's knowledge of football
But anyway it's at worst a microaggression so I guess pick your battles (or die on every hill as is prescribed in the teenage idealist's handbook)

Taking the data and looking for correlations without stopping to think about whether the correlation is due to other things is how you do internet infographics. It is also best if you take google searches and assume that google searches correlate with how popular something is in that area.
Whether they are in Republican or Democratic districts is not very useful. Most of the south would be Republican districts, but there are substantial numbers of Democrats in those districts. A business could be more appealing to the Democrats in those districts than the Republicans for various reasons.
