The two things I love most about that video with Tom petty is the guitarist that is so stoked at Prince killing it and the guy sitting front row that holds Prince up.
I want to restate that that guitarist is Dhani Harrison, and that's not to be all "look at me I know a thing" but because it makes what is already a cool moment even more amazing when it's Harrison's own son being like "God damn Prince!"
I don't know if it's been mentioned yet, but Lopez and Lopez got that line "the cold never bothered me anyway" for Let It Go from something Prince said in a conversation with them, which I think is neat.

Prince albums get a lot of play at my work, which is always welcome. Whenever I heard his music playing I would always drift to the thought that the line "Money don't matter tonight, it sure didn't matter yesterday" was the coolest line in music history.

Learning that there is a vault of fully-produced music videos and presumably masters of totally new and unheard Prince songs makes me feel as though he were always preparing for this day
I wonder if he left a will that said "slowly release these for the next fifty years"
The idea that Prince will never truly stop making music in our lifetime seems like a pretty Prince-ly idea

just all of a sudden here's six hundred and twelve new Prince songs, videos and albums

It turns out Prince invented a new genre of music and it'll be released in 2020.

So the last few days I've been thinking that my anxiety has gone up a bit at least partially in response to hearing about so many recent deaths.
I heard about Prince on the way to a doctor's appointment today, to check up on my anxiety.

I was like 14-15 when that Batman came out, man that hype was HUGE, Prince was everywhere, that soundtrack played on all radio stations, it was crazy

This year has not been good for musicians.
Need some stuff designed or printed? I can help with that.
How did I never catch this
Dirtier maybe but more subtle.
I can think of worse, like the "No-Tell Motel" bit from Rock's Modern Life.
That was only aired once, by the way.
chokey chicken, for one

It is crazy subtle especially in real time...a stable image gives you time to think about it rather than a blink and miss it.
ooooh now I get it
I don't get it

(I still might, god knows I have no upper limit for this movie)
"Sandra has a good solid anti-murderer vibe. My skin felt very secure and sufficiently attached to my body when I met her. Also my organs." HAIL SATAN
apparently they fucked up and slipped a fresh prince video in there, earlier
I'm more surprised MTV is still around than Prince dying
And I was really surprised by Prince dying, BTW
I actually wonder at the fact that cable stations have a staff on hand and are agile enough to break programming. Good on them Prince deserves it.
I can't watch this video without thinking two things.
1. We just lost our greatest living musician.
2. Prince was just cooler than everyone else.
