I really hope this iterative model of xbox is BS cause really that is just the worst as far as consoles go.
It's going to happen to both the playstation and xbox lines, and you know it.
The iteration will play all the same games, slightly better.
Then the next iteration better still.
Then the next iteration will be able to play games the original xbox one cannot, but it will play all prior games, and its games can be played on the past two iterations of hardware.
Thus there will be a perpetual 6 year console life cycle, that you can upgrade mid-generation at any time to get prettier shinies.

It is currently being used to execute everything from basic dumb "move someone's desk" nonsense to lift and ship data center migrations.
So it's pretty versatile.
edit: that said, the latter jobs require a lot more human touchpoints, and while the managed service fees deffo let us make money, the bread and butter are dumb work execution, vendor escorts, etc.

Without diving too deep into the business model here, which is every bit as valuable as the software IP (if not moreso), the goal is for there not to be departments filled with field services dudes/dudettes at the serviced company, so no we would not send it down to Lab Ops or facilities.

And no we aren't building a 1099 army (yet), nor are we having algorithms move desks or boxes.
There is a complex and bizarre business model that seems to print money for us, which is great.
We haven't really tested scalability yet though, but we are very rapidly moving towards a massive increase in tickets and when that happens... who knows? Still not 100% sure how many people we will need to hire yet.
If it is less than 10, I'll probably be on a boat next year.

I haven't noticed an issue? but I admit that stuff like hi-res and fps is not something I really notice (maybe it's my semi poor and uncorrected eyesight idk)
but yeah it will suck if new games come out that are basically unplayable on "older" versions of the system they are ostensibly designed for
but if it's just faster loading times and more storage or whatevs sure go nuts

3 cups water, 3 tbsp kosher/sea salt, 1 tbsp sugar, bay leaf, some whole peppercorns. You can also add other things for flavor: garlic, clove, fresh thyme or sage or rosemary, lemon or orange peel, etc etc. Boil it all together and then let cool to room temperature. Refrigerate at least for a few hours (I usually do it overnight but do it as late as possible to avoid the chops getting too salty) and then use your preferred cooking method. I like to heat them up to 130º in the oven and then sear in a cast iron pan up to 140º to get delicious maillard reaction goodness and also make a pan sauce with some red wine, butter, whatever fresh herb i used in the brine, and garlic.

I am actually really looking forward to this as it has struck me in the past that the majority of a console's interesting/ambitious games come out later in its life as people get familiar with the tools and hardware

doom runs 60 fps and 1080p and is beautiful looking

Xbox One regularly struggles to hit full 1080p, more often coming in around 1472x828 or lower.
On Xbox One, performance isn't quite as robust but it still manages to feel great. During many of the larger battles, frame-rates tumble into the mid-50s with some dips all the way down into the 40s. Again, the general perception is that the experience is smooth, but the drops are more evident throughout.
Like its totally playable but devs do have to make concessions but like what happens if I wanted to play doom on the 2 years ago xbone, 720p 30fps?
