It's never too early to prepare for a pax, but there likely won't be any information on it available until after west 2016.

I want to know if NateWantsToBattle is doing a panel this year, that is my top priority.

You'd have to ask that person, panel submissions won't be open till the fall.

He prefers his fans to write to the con directly to invite him. If that does not work I will write to him.

PAX typically doesn't invite people in that fashion, as far as I know.

I mean I do not want to bother him, so I will not write to him yet unless pax specifically says that he has to apply or whatever. He had one for pax 15 but pax 16 he only had a signing and that really bothered me

pretty sure u normally have to sign up for panels like submit your panel idea that pax does not normally ask you to do one could be wrong though. As far as panels though you wont know for a while if he will be doing one for sure or not cause the schedule normally does not come out for about 2-4 weeks before pax

Yea we don't solicit panels. We let the community submit what they want, and then we select from that.

*waits for Boston Convention Center to put 2017 dates back on the website* I assume it's still going to be March 10-12 as that's what was previously listed, I'm just one who needs to plan a million years in advance

Ugh, is that what was listed before they took it down? I didn't get a chance to see that. That date is going to be risky. Never know about the snow storms around that time. The plus is that it's really close to my birthday, 3/1

Trust me, coming from Buffalo we know March snow storms are a very real possibility haha. when it was in March in 2015 it was COLD, but at least it didn't storm while we were there.

True, although worth noticing, no bookable rooms at the westin for 18th-20th, but the 10th and 12th are open. Could just be looking too much into it

last year they listed it then took it down and the dates that they had listed were correct. It does seem wierd that the 10-12 is open though and the 18-20 is not. The 10th-!2th would work better for me but either way i will be there and i am guessing a march date is accurate

I did not think is it the 18-20 as there is a Seafood Expo starting on the19th. The open weekends with no Thursday event before (setup day) or Monday event afterwards (teardown day) in March and April include: March 10-12, March 24-26, April 14-16, and April 27-30. April 14th weekend has increase prices in hotels not near the con center prices compared to other weekends but it is also the weekend before the Boston Marathon. I believe it is the March 10-12 weekend because deleted date on website and hotel prices near the con center are much higher that weekend than the others.

I wish we absolutely knew the dates right now. There is a Priceline express deal for a hotel in Boston Common (most likely Boston Park Plaza Hotel) for $64 a night for the 2 weekends in March. The total cost for the room would be less than $300 and 5 minute walk from Mike and Patty's for breakfast.

Just a tip, you might want to hold a refundable room for the March 10th, 2017 weekend. They cost $30 more on Hotels.com than for rooms to pay in full that cannot be refunded. I called the Aloft hotel behind the Westin, those 2 hotels, Westin & several others are the same company. The rep who I talked to said Penny Arcade/PAX has rooms blocked off at the Westin for the whole week of March 6th-March 14th, 2017. I have my room reserved!

I'm also looking forward to PAX East next year. When I first started attending PAX, I was more excited for Prime than I was for East. Now that I've been an Omeganaut and a runner-up for East, I can't wait for PAX East next year. I had an amazing run in the Omegathon. The best part for me was that I got to bring entertainment to everyone watching me play the games I was dealt for the 2015 and 2016 PAX East Omegathons. If you seen me play rounds three and four in the 2015 East Omegathon, you would know what I'm talking about.

So just to clarify, there's no real definitive date yet on this right? I only ask because I have a lot of planning to do in march-april around this and other things...

They will make an official mention of it either at PAX West in a couple weeks, or when tickets go on sale sometime in the next few months.

I follow anything PAX related on Twitter to find out the PaxEast dates. In the past couple of years, soon after PaxWest is over, the date is announced for PAX East on the "Offical PAX" twitter page.

Last year there was no official date announcement until the day that tickets were officially launched, which was Nov 19th. The year before that it was Nov 12th but they had some problems with flooding so they changed to the mystery announcement. They may end up doing something like that again this year. So, it's good to look at Twitter for any updates. As for panels, we usually don't find what they are for usually a few weeks before.

Okay, thanks. I swear I had my room booked the last 2 years before the tickets were on sale but I guess I didn't. Too long ago to be sure, I guess.

Definitely Twitter! And if you have a smart phone, set it so that it text you the tweets from the official PAX Twitter feed. It saved me last year. I have Twitter on my phone, but got the text before the tweet arrived!

Last 2 years occurred after Pax AUS so I'm not getting too stressed out until after that. That's the first week of November.

Oh, yeh, forgot about that. I remember being so stressed that they would go on sale right at Thanksgiving.

True but they broke convention last year by putting tickets up before even updating the event date/Time til PAX ticker.

Yeh, last year was the first year that the dates weren't announced until tickets went on sale. It looks like it may be that way again this year.

At one point I remember seeing a list of dates many years in advance, so somebody out there may have that. I am fairly certain it will be March 10-12, 2017. As that is about a month and a half earlier than this year, it could possibly move up the ticket sales, unsure. But I think overall they sell them too far in advance some years, so I would be fine with a mid November ticket sale date. I would prefer they announce the dates far in advance of ticket sales, however, for planning purposes so we can determine if we can go, ahead of being in the ticket line and contacting everyone to see if they can still make those dates.

Just like most of you had stated, I see the event falling on the March 10th weekend. Hopefully they'll announce it officially, weeks before the tickets go on sale.

I can see this year being a scary one PAX wise. Like stated earlier, Boston weather at that time of year is a total crap shoot. If it is those dates, it would make sense that tickets might be offered earlier, though. Oh well. I know we all have no control over any of this, so we just have to wait. I know it's weird, and i'm not complaining, i'm just glad to finally be talking about about PAX East again! It's hard going through that long period between the end of PAX East and the end of PAX West.

That's pretty much my concern. Last year my train going to Boston was delayed by like 6 hours, due to the snow slaughtering the North East.


Edit: I like how some of you talk as if PAX South doesn't exist. LOL

Hehehe, well, it's like this. PAX East is in my line of sight, and it blocks anything to the SOUTH of me (but not due WEST. It's like I can see WEST but just can't get to it!)
