I won't say that Moonlight is the most brilliant movie that I've ever seen, but I will say that you people have to see that movie.
If only to piss off racist idiots. . . I mean, it's also really good and unlike any other movie I've ever seen, but yeah. Do it to piss off some dumb jerks.
The two things to come out of civil war that made me excited were Black Panther and the idea of a Tony Stark/Peter Parker strained father figure relationship, and seeing that that's where they're going, giving the chance for Tony to redeem himself here, is EXTREMELY exciting for me.
Tony doesn't need to redeem himself for anything, though?
Well
he did spend the end of Civil War trying to kill a dude who was brainwashed into killing his parents and had no control over his actions
It's also something he seems to regret
so I would say he has a bit of self-improvement ahead
Also
Redeem maybe isn't quite the right word for it, but Tony's life is pretty much in shambles and he's got a lot of issues he's working through, as far as rebuilding relationships and finding healthier ways to spend his time. Mentoring a young, idealistic superhero could do him a lot of good on that front.
That Spider-Man trailer was straight down the middle for me. It neither improved nor detracted from my expectations.
I guess maybe detracted in that I thought they'd knock it out of the park harder

Rise of the Planet of the Apes is still one of the best surprises I've ever had going to see a movie
I had zero interest in it, never liked any other Planet of the Apes stuff and only saw it because a buddy wanted to see it and offered to buy me a ticket
Absolutely loved it to death, one of my favorite movies that year

I mean even then you're arguing that instead of building Ultron, he just plugged in an incredibly advanced AI based off an alien artifact used by several supervillains and left it compiling while he was busy at a party, so it's still not a high point in his history.

He was being mind controlled at the time. Sure it worked off of his preexisting PTSD and desire to see the world become safe, but the actions being taken were not fully him.
Tony making some real big fuck-ups isn't even subtext at this point
it is an active part of the MCU and has been acknowledged several times

Tony didn't plug shit in! He was looking at it, and it turns out it tricked him. Like, I realize that we normally think of MCU Thanos as a bumbling offscreen dude who likes his Palpatine chair, but Ultron was his plan. He wasn't actually going to give Earth to Loki. He doesn't give a fuck about Loki.
Edit: This may be me grasping at straws to care about Thanos.

If your parties don't result in you accidentally making genocidal robots than you probably aren't very good at throwing parties.

If they do go that way, I hope it's modeled after the paranormal episodes of season 2.

I can't wait for that thing.

Sorry, redeem was the wrong word, you're right.
I'm looking for a turnaround for his character. Right now Tony is at basically the lowest point he's been as a character in the MCU.
I'm hoping for this to give him back some sense of happiness and ownership of something important that he hasn't had for a bit.

Y'know, T-Fleek, other people in the thread had the courtesy to spoiler the details of the trailer.
Yeah I'd kind of forgotten there was another one coming and then that trailer got posted and I was like, "Oh yeah, I'm looking forward to that".

He also built Ultron and has somehow pushed Pepper Potts away from him.
So.
Yeah.
He built a horrific global peacekeeping force in his image first though
