Nothing too crazy--standard 3rd version thing of adding a bunch more Pokemon, which hopefully means the routes won't feel quite as sparse, there's a new side-game thing where you take photos with your Pokemon, and there's a surfing minigame you can do to travel between the islands now which reminds me a bit of the old Surfing Pikachu game?
I don't think there's anything more "this is content cut from the first game" than Mina having her own trial instead of just handing you her Z-Crystal on a random cliff

They should have just waited an extra six months or whatever to release Sun and Moon.

I'm guessing they were under a lot of pressure to release them while Pokemon Go was still relevant and the most popular thing in the world
Okay the latest battle competition is pretty cool. Megas only and you can only have one Pokemon battle so it's basically a "quick draw" where you and your opponent have 30 seconds to figure out which member of your team to send out.

I'm going to train a Togepi for my Gold run through this time. This time I know how it evolves, so there will be no anger when my brother's evolves at level 10 and mine doesn't.
Ah, memories

The alternate evolutions must have been a pain before things like Serebii were popular. I remember getting frustrated when my Buneary refused to evolve even when I speed grinded it to like 45.
serebii and bulbapedia were both well-established by the time gen 4 came out, I think in gen 3 as well
gen 1 and 2 were kind of a pain but that was the era of strategy guides, and random FAQ and hint/tip fansites all over the web, not to mention gamefaqs guides.

Just a warning: Togepi learns a single offensive move, Double Edge, at level 38 (I don't count Metronome) so I hope you are prepared to use some TMs. I tried to use Togepi back in the day when GS first came out and I gave up around level 20.

Yeah, I gave it Swift for the time being.
Also metronome.

Pokemon thread, is anyone able to trade me a Volcanion? It's the last pokemon I need, so I'm willing to give generously for one.
These are the legendaries I can offer

But when his drinking and his lusting and his hunger for power became known to more and more people the calls to do something about this outrageous 'Mon grew louder and louder!

Houndoom/Manectric is in the trailer. That's the only one we know for sure.

That was really dumb!

I also did this, but it was against Wallace's Wailord with a level 27 Shedinja.
It wasn't worth the time it took.

Sure friend. If Volcanion was part of the distribution event last year I should have multiples. (I remember him having a code card)
I'd love it if you can snag me a Shiny Squirtle with Rain Dish.
Sounds like a deal. What nature would you like on it?

Alright, I have the goods, I'll see you online then.

I'll be on in around 15 min.
