hey @Six, i think i am going to pull the trigger on this. Works out about €350, which i think is alright for an introductory camera that i'm hoping will last years
i was looking around for second hand stuff but couldn't really see things much cheaper, or at least cheap enough to warrant the risk of going second hand

@tav that body will last you as long as you want it to, definitely. It's the same basic model as the camera I started with, just like 7 generations more advanced. You can start getting good lenses (I highly recommend picking up the Canon 50/mm 1.8 for ~$100) and those will go with you if you decide you want to upgrade bodies.
So yea, I'm all for it. Next time we hang out I'll bring my camera and we can shoot or just talk about toys, which is half of what being into cameras is about anyway.
