I had a conversation with my mother last week that began with the sentence "there's something wrong with the moon", so know that you are not alone

(the actual answer is that it was a crescent moon silhouetted against the gloaming, which is a combination of conditions she has apparently never observed before)
Yesterday this mobile crane, parked on top of a hill on an icy bike road, started to slip backwards. One worker chased it and jumped into the cab to try to stop it, the other went down the road to warn away people that might be down the road.
Down the road were two children, three and five. The worker threw himself over them to try to get them away in time, but all three ended up underneath the crane. The three year old and the worker suffered only light crush injuries, but the five year old died at the hospital only hours later.
I played too much video games. The Katniss vs robobeasts one. The game features stunningly realistic depiction of hacking:
She lashes a "hacking cylinder" to her spear and rams robots in the face with it.

I'm not done the story yet so I'm not sure how silly the robots will end up being, exactly, but there is definitely some silliness
It doesn't seem like they're going for divergences from the expected too much, but what they are doing is fully committing to the setting that they've created and fleshing it out a lot
