Look, I'm sure that programming the physics for boobs to work realistically in a game is actually kind of difficult.

But when they make a big deal about how "cinematic" their cutscenes are, I expect some effort, at least?

Other than, like, the Dead or Alive games, what modern 3D games actually have boob physics simulation?

ME:A, with the immovable, rigid breasts of a 1980s sex scene

A trap is for fish: when you've got the fish, you can forget the trap. A snare is for rabbits: when you've got the rabbit, you can forget the snare. Words are for meaning: when you've got the meaning, you can forget the words.

The Dead or Alive games have boob physics, but they are not at all realistic. There's an option slider where it asks the players age and the higher then number, the more they bounce around... independently of each other, mind you.

Most of the time when games have women running around in bikini tops they aren't rigged at all, or only have very simple rigs, and for the most part, when you're busying playing a game, that's absolutely fine, because you're busy paying attention to, y'know, gameplay.

Veteran ranks of characters will only drop after all characters of that rarity have been unlocked to rank 10.
Naladen explosion now deals damage when Cryo or Incendiary Ammo are equipped.
Fixed issue where Dwindling Supplies and Empty Resupply mission modifiers would not function correctly if a player left the game.
Dhan shotgun now properly primes enemies.
Fixed issue where Bulwark, Siphon, and Concussive variants of pistols and sniper rifles would prime enemies too slowly when using special ammo.
Fixed issue where using Supply Pack Transmitter would reduce spare ammo if Empty Resupply mission modifier was active.
Using First Aid with Supply Pack Transmitter no longer heals enemies.
Fixed issue that caused screen to blink red/yellow when using Siphon and Bulwark weapons.
Rank XIV Common Characters are no longer displayed as Rank XV

I was browsing the bioware store because they had their comiccon sale going on this weekend, wanted to see what they had in store now.

They have this omni-blade replica, which I think looks pretty cool.
    etc-me-omnibladecosplay-front.jpg

But then you get to the bottom of the description
Warning: This product contains chemicals known to the State of California to cause female reproductive harm

Now I kinda want to know what that chemical is 0.o

Those type of notifications are everywhere in California. It's probably nothing to worry about.

Super standard for anything that needs to ship into CA. Hell, you can find a sticker with the same warning on mugs and as you walk into grocery stores.

    This is a silly place.

Like, Mass Effect, as a brand, is a pretty huge thing for games and there is no way one failure out of 4 games would kill it

It will just go dormant for a decent while and then launch with a new story

Thanks, executives messing with the game.

    Thanks, publisher fuckery.

    Thanks, internet hyperbole.

It was truly a team effort.

Yup, and they'll take another crack at it in 5-7 years.

Like, this ain't the first time this has happened with a huge franchise

    Look at Tomb Raider

Andromeda had been in pre-production and development since ME3. There was no "not working on Mass Effect" lull in Bioware. Unlike now. Five years until a new game is pretty optimistic, imho.

Yeah but it also has an infamously difficult development cycle with constant starts and stops and the majority of work was completed in the last year and a half before release

Given a more standard dev cycle 5-7 seems reasonable

Oh, Dragon Age 2 actually has like... ten points higher Metacritic score? I was under the impression that everybody hated DA2 when it came out.

I liked DA2 because it had amazing characters that made the story just work

MEA had objectively better gameplay and decent enough characters (DA2 wins there)

Maybe I should channel this disappointment into writing something about it

I kind of have a bad feeling for the franchise since they couldn't even scrape together one DLC. I mean, surely they must have already had months of work that's getting tossed out, right?

Dragon Age 2 has the best combat out of all the Dragon Age games.

dumb. one of the few single player games i stayed invested in to complete it in a while. i feel like the fact that it was as good as it was despite all the obstacles is a testament to the developers.

    sigh.

That's a low bar to clear, to be fair

I'm telling you my idea for a ME game is the best

It's getting an old heist crew back together for the big job they always said they were going to do, during the final days of the Reaper invasion.

On one hand, Mass Effect is my favorite scifi series (far more than Star Trek and somewhat more than Star Wars), and I hate to see it go.

But on the other hand, they did completely write themselves into a corner with the ME3 ending. I'm not interested in going backwards with a prequel, so maybe it's for the best to end it and start something new.

It's punchy and their "fight like a spartan"(ugh) design plan worked really well to make each action feel important, unlike MEA which felt like pool noodle wars for a lot of the game.
Plus their cross-class combos were perfect and each NPC felt very unique.

DA2 is a pretty good RPG! Except in encounter design.
