I would argue that there hasn't been a good event in like a decade. Because of course I would.

Infinity and Secret Wars are the only things i could even have some argument for

And hell, if you're not into cosmic stuff i'd understand not liking those too

    I don't, really
Why? It had a prelude mini, a standalone event mini and a bunch of tie ins

Didn't have any tie-in minis or one-shots, and it didn't affect anything outside of the Inhumans and X-Men books.

I feel exactly the same. And I generally liked them.

Yeah Secret Wars is probably the best one I can think of? But it wasn't really my bag. Too many shortcuts in the actual event that I'm guessing I didn't follow due to not buying tie-ins.

The only tie ins that came close to explaining anything in the main plot were Thors and Siege, and I wouldn't call them essential (though they are good and worth reading)

Personally I think this is getting super super narrow as to what an event is

Like, it had 5 series tie-in and a standalone book

What would it be if not an event

A book doesn't have to tie into dozens of comics to be an event, look at Annihilation!

Ah. Yeah. It's hard to tell with Hickman with what's kind of a shortcut to get his pieces in play and what's allusion to tie ins I find.

To be fair, it ended with a literal deus ex machina. If they had just had an issue where Danvers murdered Stark, nothing would have been different

If anyone was planning anything over there at the time, the New 52 should have happened after Final Crisis not Flashpoint.

    What a shock!

A change I'm okay with, but Marvel just craves that sweet sweet status quo, don't they?

The best event I've read in the last decade was Final Crisis, but that was only when I went back and reread it stoned out of my mind.

    is betty still a hulk?

why is it that the only idea for hulk's supporting cast that has been used in the past decade is "make them a hulk?"

How did that story end exactly by the way? I think I remember it involved the Hulk getting mind-boosted by Extremis and then deciding all the Hulk-like characters had to depowered. Wasn't it hinted too that the personality that was born from said mind-boosting was the closest thing to the Maestro the Hulk would get to in the 616?

SCW ran through multiple titles and had tie in issues in books like Blue Beetle and one of the Bat Titles

Planet Hulk, had, like an annual?

I love that World War Hulk could have been almost completely averted in like the first issue if not for HYDRA.

one time I had to ban the word "green" from a comics discussion and I'd still rather revisit that argument than world war hulk

I thought the Messiah storyline for X-Men was a pretty good trilogy of Messiah Complex, Messiah War, and Second Coming were good events for the X-titles.
