Consumption of [chat] Quantities
Once every few decades, a film captures the imagination of a generation and enters the pantheon of greats
The Godfather
Citizen Kane
Star Wars
These are the type of film that
I enjoy, and 1993's venerable classic
Coneheads stands tall among them.

Look at all that food he eats! Grid-like breakfast slabs, flattened chicken embryos, seared swine flesh.
Use this thread to talk about your favorite
Coneheads scenes and
only to talk about your favorite
Coneheads scenes and maybe how much of a crush you had on Connie, the Conehead daughter.

Fuck Joe Manchin
Look at this amazing stop-motion work on the Garthok.
On topic: I'd love to just be able to shove electronic components in my mouth to fix them like Beldar. A+ alien skill.
SiG called my bluff and I wasn't ready!
Gnarfle the Garthok!

Does your husband regularly go onto the psych ward itself?
I know here they do (the psychiatrists try to meet with every patient daily, if only briefly), and there's definitely a risk factor of violence and / or suicide attempts ... basically at all times. I don't mean to frighten you! There's usually a pretty significant security presence, too, to mitigate most of that risk, but it is still there.
In my local hospital they have a separate psych ward (the PICU - Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit) for more ... challenging patients (Nargirl ended up there a couple times for her "failure to cooperate", to put it kindly), and over there especially they have the option to restrain and / or otherwise secure truly dangerous / threatening / risky patients.
Anyway, I assume your husband knows enough to let security know about a potentially violent patient, but I do agree that's always scary and never fun
Staying on the psych ward was always an adventure ... >_>
hmmm
i can't quite place my finger on it but.....i can't help but feel like there's a bit of bias in these ratings
it was thoroughly unremarkable to me with a typically dumb and convoluted time vs fixed time plot
people were talking like it was noteworthy in how bad it was and i didn't get that from it
Amy and Rory we're particularly popular at the time and it was a shitty send off that also overly complicated great villains.
ah, yeah i can see that
though i always thought the weeping angels were dumb
SIG is a mod of whims ... today she has blessed us with Conehead [chat]. Tomorrow, only pictures of spiders allowed? Who knows! All things are possible in Her Most Glorious Empire!
Blink is one of the best nu who episodes I think and the bit with the ruins is great too, if even just because it has one of the best Doctor threats.
They go downhill from there
To be fair, Dr. Who is dumb all around.
C-list 80s actors in weird makeup doing silly voices
Yes let's make a film about this
-Indiana Solo, runner of blades
i got some genuine feels out of some of the tennant stuff
but yeah generally pretty dumb
Yes.
they wrote some amazing songs full stop but their extra tracks that wound up on movies are some incredible stuff
Moffat in, Moffat out
Have you even gotten to the Snowmen Christmas special....!?
Strax steals nearly every scene.
It involved an underwater base and two rival factions and also a giant green monster that was clearly just two dudes inside a redecorated pantomime horse

The end of Capalidis first episode is heart breaking
i am like four eps away from that i think
They were good in the episode that introduced them. Suitably creepy and fit in with the other timey-whimey stuff going on.
Pretty fun low stakes episode.
It’s not a very important country most of the time

Gotta keep the people guessing
Moffat a little like George Lucas. When other people present to distill the good from the bad, it is great. Left to own devices though.....
