The first few episodes of Gotham were not dumb in the way I enjoy. I could not even enjoy it ironically because my grandmother was thoroughly enjoying it and saw nothing wrong.
She's kept current with the show and keeps trying to get me to come back and watch it, even.

I'm really mad I didn't give Gotham enough of a chance because I'm sure I'd love it now but now I have to binge a shit load of episodes to catch up.
She has many opinions about wrestling that I'm sure people would love to hear. Especially about how the fans are needlessly mean to Roman and Randy Orton should win more often.
And I think we've already covered how much she loved Almost Human (/Being Human/Human Being/Almost Famous/etc.) in an earlier thread.
Let me know if you want her hot takes on Dynasty (she keeps hoping Joan Collins shows up as the grandmother or something).
"The nicest person on the show is the young man who stole all that money but apologized. The whole family is *cuckoo clock sound effect*."
When I asked her for who her favorite character is she just stared at me. When I suggested the main girl, she rolled her eyes. When I suggested the new wife, she scoffed.
I think she likes the butler the best so far. She told me to check back after a few more episodes.
She just says, "Why is everyone so mean?" or, "Can't the dad just be nice?" a few times each episode so far.
When we started the first episode, she kept referring to Dynasty as 'the one with Patrick Duffy' but I had to look it up to figure out that one was Dallas.
She still keeps bringing up Patrick Duffy. For some reason.

Not really, they watched enough Gotham to decide it sucked and henceforth stopped watching Gotham. And there's still enough people watching who post some of the stupider things that happen, which reinforces the opinion in non-watcher's minds.

At the very least, Gotham isn't close to the worst superhero show. Thanks SHIELD and I guess Iron Fist.

Ive never given you shit because i did the same with Gotham.
So when you remedy the fact on Agents of Shield, i will do the same with Gotham.
SHIELD started off kinda boring then ramped up over the first season. But it never seemed bad or stupid to me.
Ehhhh
I like AoS, but that second episode is incredibly bad
Weird, I still remember lots of bits from that one and enjoyed it.

I'd say it doesn't really matter due to them being superhero shows so we are all grading on a curve anyways. But then Legion showed up and set the curve and all the other kids in class hate that fucker.

Best superhero show is actually Spawn because of the Todd MacFarlane log lady intros.

Yeah AoS was boring when it started and then I heard it got better but not in a way that intrigues me.
Gotham meanwhile sounds like it became everything I wanted it to be... AND MORE

It wasn't a trick.

I think back on AoS and it did one genuinely cool thing the one time it bothered having a no bullshit tie-in to the movies.
I like some of the characters, I like some of the episodes, but I had to give up because the show is just not very good, especially when compared to the DC or X-men shows that it competes with. I stuck with it longer than I should have by at least a season.
it's, at most...perfectly fine, and I think it's one of those shows that gets a lot of credit for bothering to have an ongoing narrative, but I don't think it handled the ongoing narrative stuff very well, and the other stuff has been done better in other superhero cartoons. like, I'm not crazy about earth's mightiest heroes, but that had modok in it, at least
