Now forgive me for sounding stupid, but American Vandal is
A parody of super serious unsolved mystery documentaries that are popular (especially on Netflix) nowadays? It feels like it from the ads, but it's so serious, that I feel like maybe the crime is as important as it's protrayed. Also, if feels weird that Netflix would promote something that makes fun of something they're known for.

Yes.
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.

This contrast - between
the sober tone of serious "film making" and the nature of the crime and all the individuals being chronicled
Seriously though that kid has a bright future in television and film. The production values on his documentary are fantastic.

My favorite running themes of American Vandal
The constant subtle digs of the Mockumentary guys on all the students, i.e. that the the Documentary was basically a super elaborate Hit-Piece on the student body that had offended them.
How the Documentary had constantly, constantly destroyed the lives of so many people by carelessly exposing stupid high school bullshit.

I don't really agree with that first bit
They took some swings because they are also shitty high schoolers but I do not believe the documentary was meant to be some huge hit piece
Peter and Sam are just idiot nerds and A)
Didn't expect it to blow up like it did are teenagers and don't realize how damaging an off-hand remark or chat screencap could be and C) are new to being documentarians and can't keep themselves fully objective. Which Peter later admits.
The damage they did (except for probably Sam and Gabi) came from a place of ignorance, not malice.

It's super open to interpretation, but
it's clearly supposed to be part of the joke that you can take either seriously or not. The whole bit about Peter's failed movies being a motive, along with the sowed seeds that he actually dislikes Dylan for all the antics he pulls.
And then they hint throughout the series that Peter and his friend are kinda losers (they are the only two kids from school who didn't go to the grandma party, for instance)
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
All the spoiler tags are making me want to click them... but I think I might actually want to watch American Vandal.
It is the best show I have watched this year

I just finished ep 6 and it's super good so far
the sequence of piecing together a timeline for the infamous "party at nana's house" from everyone's snapchats is so perfectly executed
So the Babysister movie on netflix. The one about the satanic babysitter club.
Is that a 'funny horror' movie in the vein of Tucker & Dale vs Evil or what? Is it any good?
It's a "bad" movie in the vein of something McG would direct because oh God he directed this too slick, not really funny but I guess the gore is ok lazy horror movie.

I for real turned the stick figure snowman into my profile pic on FB and people are really confused. And I love it.
"A new take on the epic fantasy genre... Darkly comic, relatable characters... twisted storyline."

Saw a preview of The Good Doctor and rolled my eyes. Great.....another example of an autistic person having super mental powers. Then a coworker mentioned that the Doctor reminded her of me....

I got to meet James Cameron at an Avatar event after it came out and he was pretty chill and very gracious with my nerd ass thanking him for terminator and Aliens and not mentioning avatar at all, which was nice considering he's kind of notoriously misanthropic
but that's not the coolest celebrity I met at that thing
I was wearing a very nice, kind of tight slim vest and dress pants, and I was like...19? So I was trying to look fancy and I was pretty nervous and gangly because like James Cameron is here. And this very elegant middle-aged lady wearing a robe/shawl sits on a couch across from me in this big event hall. She strikes up some conversation and I tell her how I'm from Alaska and this is all very surreal to me, a lowly serf. Her whole aura had me feeling as though I was talking to like, my boss, or something.
Anyways I must have seemed out of breath from my vest, cause before she leaves she says to me (like this is a dream sequence or something), "There is no beauty without pain, my dear..." and then she drifts away to be poised and mysterious somewhere else.
And a few seconds later I'm thinking about this and wondering why was that lady's voice so familiar to me? And that's when I realize I was talking to CCH Pounder
So I can confirm that CCH Pounder is as awesome in real life as she is all of her work, as if there was any doubt
He was such a nice dude, just as pleasant as can be and more than a little shocked that I was allowed to see the first Conan movie when I was six.

Mako, like the voice actor for Aku, the shapeshifting master of darkness?
a cool thing I heard is that the Avatar: TLA showrunners found out that Mako used to do broadway musicals which is why they always tried to write in sequences in the show where Uncle Iroh would sing
it was such a good self-encapsulating thing that I think I'd prefer they just left it alone
If it is the same exact creative minds behind it, I am game
and I'd love it if they made a new show, but I don't see much to get out of revisiting that set of characters or what to say that they didn't already

When American Vandals first got a trailer people were super confused how it could be a show. Then people said it ended up being real good. I'd say let's give season 2 a chance.

I mean there are absolutely aspects of High School that they didn't touch on
Just from that brief teaser I'm gonna assume it is about a kid with severe privilege getting away with shit. The first season only lightly touched on class disparity among students outside of the social "nerd", "stoner", etc. Hierarchy
A season focusing on how spoiled rich students and how broken the system is in their favor sounds good to me
Also I'm pretty sure Peter would be a senior, which opens up its own can of worms.

Of course you would say that. You've built a persona around having terrible taste
I mean, it's from the guy who created House, so
nailed it in one?
I wanted to like it, but the writing is pretty bad? I have a pretty high tolerance, but I am not feeling this show.
