Its predecessor was cute and had a good-natured presentation, but was kind of lacking in the gameplay department.
This game, however, seems to be the stuff, 10 or so hours in. You can create your entire party, choose their classes and genders, and name them after your friends and/or girls you liked in grade school, as per ancient law
The graphics continue to be a wild improvement over the previous installment, the music is excellent, and the combat is more interesting and more rewarding. We'll see how this holds up. Maybe the game is great until you need to grind for 200 hours.
We'll find out.
ANYWAY: it gets really fucking fatiguing logging into chat to watch people continually fail to engage either with each other or with themselves. Experiment with forthrightly discussing your real feelings about things, and accept the possibility that if you don't have real feelings about a thing, it's okay, and in fact encouraged, to say nothing.

Also the saga I went through to get a refill on my anti-depressants was a darkly humorous clusterfuck of (well sir the doctor wants to see you before you get more refills, but you’re out of town so go to an urgent care, but your insurance won’t cover any prescriptions not from your primary doctor, also the soonest opening for an appointment is March 27th, oh fuck it fine have some medicine after two weeks of nothing.)
It was like life was targeting me specifically. But of course that’s not true.
I've been genuinely experimenting with different ways to get past problems that aren't just "get a powerful weapon and bash the shit out of things"
Part of the charm is the leveling system and the way enemies also get tougher as you progress. Sometimes this can lead to problems though, like last night when I did an early Companions quest and was getting consistently wrecked by a half dozen Silver Hand dudes with lots of heavy armor.
In the past I would have just reloaded a save and got the eff out of dodge but I decided to try and beat them. I used conjuration. I used fire. I used swords. I used arrows. I used dungeon traps. I used status effect shouts that I'd picked up but never ever used in my previous hundreds of hours of Skyrim.
And when the last of them lay dead at my feet I felt something.
