I liked Mario 3d world better than pretty much every other Mario game (haven't played Odyssey yet). I really wish that it had been the way all 3d platformers were, with the fixed camera angle instead of the behind the shoulder, I just find it way more intuitive instead of wrestling with the camera constantly.

I've been playing Golf Story and it's mostly charming + good, but it desperately needs the ability to quit out of a challenge
Like, it's now mathematically impossible to succeed at this challenge because I fucked a hole up pretty bad, maybe let me quit now instead of closing down the whole game and reloading
I don't remember if they fixed it, but there was also the opposite problem where a challenge wouldn't end after hitting the point target - you had to burn through all your tries.
Yeah but I don't have a 3ds right now, just a PS4 and switch. I know they're on ps4 but they're games I 100% prefer portable
Oh fair, that's understandable. They definitely benefit a lot from the idea of "fuck it, I'm just going to come back to this later." style of play.

I ended up trying out some weapons in Splatoon I'd never used and got really into the Glooga Dualies. It's funny to see someone coming at you, dodge roll backwards and just stand there, since they'll go straight at you thinking it's an easy kill only for you to kill them in two accurate shots.
Also it's still funny to see people fall off Moray Towers with Inkjets since they walked forward at the zigzag part (but also screw Moray Towers).
On the final boss of XC2, I feel like I need to yell into a pillow to get over the bullshit OHKO it serves up. I really despise that mechanic.
Xenoblade's combat is full of bullshit that will wipe you unless you come up with the specific way to counter it. There are a couple of unique monsters I'm way overleveled for that still kick my ass with stuff like seal healing.
Like... 2 of them could be considered to have the dating sim elements
I’d say tactical games with visual novel elements? You have virtually no influence over the story in most of them
Genealogy of the Holy War actually did the whole kids mechanic first, but that never came to the west.
Speaking of, I hope we get remakes of Genealogy and Binding Blade sometime down the road. I don't really care too much about Thracia 776, and Mystery of the Emblem isn't happening any time soon.
This is an important question and I require an answer
I think both tracks are the correct ones for their versions of the stage (seriously I love how the music in Spectre of Torment reflected the difference in the environments), but if we're just talking which track I like better the original takes it, barely.

Once I'm done with Mario, do I want shovel knight or BOTW? (I have not played a zelda since wind waker, and am a bit worried shovel knight is going to be platforming over dose after mario)
I don't consider the platforming in Shovel Knight and the gameplay of Mario Odyssey similar at all, but that sort of thing is probably very much a personal call. I'd say Shovel Knight if only to have a short, tight, level-focused game as a pallet cleanser between two expansive, long, and open ones.
I thought I generally disliked 3D platformers and had avoided them for a long time (since like Mario Sunshine) but picked up Odyssey because of all the hype and good press and it has made me rethink my entire belief structure.

I can see and even appreciate what they were trying to do with that game, but I feel like they failed at a fundamental level to make the controls feel good and the checkpointing, or lack thereof, is actively contemptful of the player.
Frankly those were two of the things that made Odyssey work--the controls were tight and the checkpointing was very generous.

Edit: Oh huh I just checked, now it's about the same price as the 2nd game for 3ds.
They're just, sitting on my shelf waiting for a rainy day I guess
They're good games. What's stopping you?
// Switch: SW-5306-0651-6424 //
The Persona 5 Platinum
Then Nier
Then, shit, I dunno
Yakuza 0?
Pick a problem

I can still fast-forward through text, right??
You can fast forward, yeah.

I very nearly quote replied to it, just to insure it stayed here when you realized it was the wrong one. Love that corg-rito
Still pretty amazing that there's still nonsense coming out of Zelda almost a year later.
Yeah, I got it on 3DS.

What is the better theme for the Lich Yard? Is it La Danse Macabre:
Or is it Hidden by Night:

tell us you shits
Then, after, if you want to play a Zelda game, that blossom knight game sounds pretty good
incidentally I have close to zero patience for the latter
