Nolan Ryan abruptly resigns from the Astros front office a few weeks before this story breaks. What team did Ryan last work for? That's right, the Rangers. Both of these teams are in Texas, which is located in America. You know what else is located in America? That's right, the Milwaukee Brewers!

Finally the mariners can point to something else beyond their own rank incompetence as to the reason they never do anything in the west.
As if the Astros would even bother stealing signs from the Ms.
There's video demonstrating the Astros doing their trash can thing against the 67-95 White Sox in a meaningless regular season game with no playoff implications.
The M's are destined to not even appear in a WS until the rest of the league has won within the last 30 years.
and though I think there are certain technology overreaches in baseball, I don't think the solution for sign stealing is too terribly controversial
wireless haptic transceiver between the fielders, encrypted signal. catcher keeps it inside his glove, tap tap tap, everyone fielding feels it. no way to see it with cameras.

Can't be in the glove, too much impact, it'd be broken a lot. I don't have a good solution for location on the catcher though.
Apparently in the 2017 WS when it was too loud for the trash can, the Astros were using a live feed and relaying signs to the bullpen catcher by wireless earpiece who signalled fastball or offspeed by putting his hands over his head on the fence or not.
Jose Abreu accepts 1 year qualifying offer from the White Sox.
Must have thought his market wasn't great.
Word is Odorizzi is strongly considering it because he thinks his market will be better next year. I'm not sure I agree, but I'm not sure I disagree either.

I think it was a mistake. He pitched his best in the first half of last year then came back down to earth
I understand betting on yourself but I don't think he will look as good after next season.
Bauer, Ray, Paxton, Tanaka, Arrieta, Stroman, Quintana are the FA pitchers next year.
It's less top heavy than this year where Odorizzi would a budget choice for teams that can't go for Cole or Strasburg, but that's a lot of pitchers similar to Odorizzi flooding the market. On the other hand though, Odorizzi won't have a draft pick attached to him next year which could help his value if he can play well.
It was a tough spot and I could see it going either way.

1 kegel per tap
so if the gloves is on the left hand, they reach in with their right hand to tap it
if it can break there, then their wrist is broken too
Will Smith to the Braves for 3 years and 39 milly
Yay compensatory pick
Almost as good as a player to be named later.

What's the 1B/DH market look like for 2020?
I thought I read he already did accept it
So he did. I was behind the times.

That'll depend on the Owners meetings in a week or so.
Yelich should have had it but the injury messed up his chances.
They should just award it to Trout at the beginning of every season.
"Eh, it's really boring to me. I don't care for it."
"Hey Quid, we brought the Commissioner's Trophy to your physical therapy appointment today."
"Oh hell yeah I'll pose with that."
well NOW I'm pretty sure the Brewers were doing this shit
He played at least 10 years and has been retired for 5.
I thought you had to be endorsed for the ballot.
Nope. Just have to meet the service time requirements.
