Caulifla is great; she’s the best aspects of Goku and Vegeta rolled into a single badass.
Kale is very meh, but I’ve never cared for the frustratingly timid ‘notice me senpai’ characters.
I love the Universe 6 characters since they're interesting twists on the OG Saiyans.
And Kale having a very not secret crush on her Goku, while hating OUR Goku because he's stealing her attention was a brilliant " Makin Broly canon" move.
They did it in a way no one saw coming and it's great.
I finally got around to watching the latest episode. I liked it for the most part.
I didn’t like that they brought 17 back.
He’s been my favorite Universe 7 character the whole tournament for sure and I always want more DBS 17, but way to wuss out TOIE. You finally have the guts to kill off a character to give some impact to the ToP story, but nope, gotta take that away.
What’s up with this arc and people not dying from blowing themselves up? First Vegeta and now 17?
I did like how Jiren lost his temper and attacked the people in the stands. I wasn’t really invested in the fight until that happened. It’s nice both Jiren and Goku have something going on besides, “Rawr! Strength!” And, “Rawr! Fight!”
Vegeta's Final Explosion doesn't literally cause him to explode, it just uses up all (or now almost all) of his life energy.

pretty sure it's just Vegeta powering up as high as possible and then dropping whatever barrier there is between his energy and everywhere outside his body

I dont think he did. Vegeta fully intended to die both times. I'm thinking the second time though he managed to hold back just enough to survive by chance

Also looking it up: The first and fourth ones are retellings of, respectively, the Pilaf saga and all of DB, the middle two are original stories.
They're also kind of more like alternative retellings - the Pilaf gang aren't actually in the first one, for instance, and it's a completely different villain who serves a similar role. I dunno how accurate the fourth one is, but given that it's got Emperor Chiaotzu I'm going to assume that it's quite different.

I only remember the one that kind of had the beginning of Goku and Krillin's training when Bulma's kidnapped because naturally and it's just some...evil dinosaur/demon guy in some barren hellscape fortress? Maybe vaguely vampire-esque? I don't remember at all.

Bear in mind 17 just vanished after Cell. I'm not sure how popular he was back then ( Toriyama did have him act more like a bad guy) 18 got way more development.

I did like how they tried to make Tree of Might work in Xenoverse 2. I can totally buy that that tree was meant to be grown by and for the gods, and Tullece just stole the seeds from somewhere.

I think I saw Tree of Might, Deadzone, and World's Strongest when they were done by the ocean dub and aired on Toonami?

And I don't think it's the worst of them. Bio Broly, dead zone, and probably the slug movie all take that cake for me. Maybe even the second Broly movie too.

Having just marathoned all of them, they hold up better than you'd expect.
The "Princess Trunks" jokes from the recent Broly one they did irritated me more than the stuff they did in their earlier film parodies.
