I cooked teriyaki chicken drumsticks last night. Since I'd just run out of foil, the teriyaki got all cooked to the pan, so that's been soaking all day.
On my way home, should I purchase more foil, and more sauce, and moar meat?

I haven't seen a batsignal for it yet so I don't think anyone else has written this up, and just wanted to briefly summarize the Adventures of Pinecone, @Elki , @desc and myself in Sea of Thieves the other night
so two pretty great things happened
First thing, we've got three skulls worth $bank in the hold of our galleon, been playing for maybe a half an hour, and we're coming around from an island we'd just stopped at, and this other galleon comes over the horizon and just like, Comes For Us. They're good at working their sails, so they catch up quick. Mostly we're running, and it's this frantic (but actually working quite well) trade off of Elki navigating, me steering mostly blind other than the orders I'm getting from him because of the placement of the sails, Desc keeping an eye on the enemy ship and manning the cannons with Pinecone, occasionally trading fire.
We're having a great time, at some point Desc and I trade off steering the ship so I can help with the cannons and get a bit of a break, the galleon tails us for like a full half an hour or more, and then someone says - hey, what if we jump off our ship and then grab their ladders as they come by?
So Pinecone and I start this process of flinging ourselves off our galleon into the ocean, frantically swimming into position, and then totally missing the ladders, and then mermaid-ing back to the ship to start again. This would be frustrating, except that every time their galleon zooms by us in the water, we catch snippets of party chat, and they're just.. hilarious. One time I barely miss their ladder, and one of their guys just starts madly cackling as someone else shouts "THEY'VE GOT TO RUN OUT OF GAS SOON RIGHT?" and it's obvious they're having a great time too - now, we're all talking in discord, not party chat, except for Pinecone (so we could both be mic'd without feedback from being in the same room), and they hear me just losing my shit laughing in the water, and one of them goes "NICE TRY ASSHOLE"
so we're still running from them, and we've given up mostly on the ladder idea, I'm steering again - at this point they've gotten close enough to trade gunfire as well as canon fire a few times, but they haven't managed to board or ram us. And I get this idea like, hey, what if we do like a .. drive-by outpost drop off of these skulls, and then we can attack them without care for consequences. Around this time they get close enough to hear again, I turn and shoot one (who goes "STOP SHOOTING AT ME BITCH") and we decide that if we can get some distance this might work, especially since they've already shot a cannot shot that one hit killed Desc while he was steering once and probably could again,so we need to end this soon.
SO, Desc finds the nearest outpost, Elki's shouting navigation orders, they're getting ready with the skulls, and I get us in position to just ZOOM by an outpost, and it's like, some action movie shit, I turn hard so the guys can jump off on the side out of view of our pursuers, I'm like JUMP JUMP JUMP, they jump with the skulls, and I high tail it around the island trying to look like I'm still running away - this buys us a few precious moments before one of their dudes spots one of ours coming up on the shore, and they slam to a halt, grinding up against the dock, ship making a horrible sound, and I'm like, holding my breath, half-blind from the sails still, trying to sail around the island so that Desc and Pinecone and Elki can run to the ship when they're done, just waiting to see the little Sold notifications come up for the skulls
Then one of them catches up with Desc, they're fighting, I don't know if they've managed to sell the goods, I can distantly hear gunfire coming from the island via the directional sound thing and Elki and Desc shouting somewhat incoherently in my ears. And I pull the ship around the other side of the island from the enemy galleon and run down and drop anchor, and then one by one the little Sold things pop up for the skulls, all three - and all three of the guys make it back to the ship, no problem, and then we engage in a great no-stakes fight until our ship sinks and we mermaid to a new one.

The second thing that was a good story that happened was also PVP - there's this little sloop that's been doing quests on islands near us, and at one point they shot a warning shot from far away, I guess just to let us know they meant business. We've been joking about attacking, but we're leaving them alone, and then at one point they pass pretty close to us, and Pinecone just.... shoots them???? Well, I guess this was a bit kicking the hornets' nest, because this little sloop is scrappy af. They're good at steering, fast, hard to hit, and 100% down to clown. We kill them both almost right off the bat, but they just respawn and come right the fuck back as fast as they can. At one point they shoot a cannon shot that shoots Desc right off the deck.
Again we have some stuff on the ship, so this time we go straight to the "drive by drop-off" plan - Desc's driving now, I've got a chest, Elki's still navigating and directing, Pinecone's on cannons. I leap off the ship at the appropriate time, run in, sell the chest, but now the sloop has maneuvered inbetween our galleon and the shore, and is cutting off my path to swim back. I'm thinking what to do, swimming fast as I can, when one of the guys from the sloop catches up to me and tries to stab me in the water. Thankfully, my time desperately fighting off sharks while diving wrecks in solo play pays off, and I manage to spin around and headshot him almost instantly. Meanwhile, Desc's got the other one. We spend a moment sinking their ship so they can't come back again for revenge, and high tail it to another latitude.

oh and also at one point Pinecone glitched off the crow's nest and was propelled forward through the ocean at incredible speed, across the map and eventually over the edge of the world lmao.

he definitely didn't find, upon testing the waters, that nothing would happen. as i said, i objected in the moment- and in very strong terms. i told him his comments were incredibly gross and unwelcome, as were the beliefs that led him to the words. he did not find a welcoming ear.
also, so it's said- i don't love the men giving leeway to men remark. i'm open to whatever commentary about whether just dressing him down and expressing my disgust is enough, vs potentially taking his job and seriously curtailing his life. but in a similar context i have defended white supremacists, here, for everyone to see- and antisemites, who don't care for me and with whom i don't share a commonality. i don't think it's alright to other me in that way when i've shown a consistent willingness to consider the position of people very different from me, however repugnant i found their points of view. i'm open to being called naive or soft handed or whatever, but i don't think i've earned this idea that i'm pardoning those like me.
