To put it a fourth way: If the Star Wars franchise is a fancy restaurant, FA and LJ are both two-course meals with appetizers included, while all the other entries are those sandwich plates that come with fries that you feel obligated to order when your friends are picking up your tab.
Over this break I finally rewatched TLJ and finished the last 1 1/2 seasons of rebels.
I love everything about that movie except maybe the "can you hear me now" opener, and it's not even that I don't believe they wouldn't have bad signal jokes in that universe because of course they would, they use interstellar communications equipment- but it just felt like a bad distraction and I'm pretty sure it only worked in universe because they we're counting on huxx to be an idiot. if it was an on the spot stall tactic to let everyone escape I'd have bought it better. It was just, I guess it was there narratively to jump start the hotshot to leader character arc so I'm not even that mad about it in the end, I just get pulled out of the universe a little by it.
But holy shit rebels. That ending was crazy and I immediately need a follow up to it and why doesn't that exist I need to know what happens next. They played with my expectations of "prequel material means everyone has to die right?" In a way I definitely did not expect but that does excite me if they can please give me the sequel series right now. There was a point where I felt like thrawn was too hypercompetent that makes the rest of the empire seem like they would have collapsed long before from all of it's other useless military leaders. I don't mind it for the show. It's always better to have a good villain. But it really makes the empire appear to only rule through sheer numbers, which actually is probably fair

Current events are doing a good job demonstrating that inept and cartoonishly evil administrations running things for a while is maybe the most realistic part of a star war

I'm having my beyonce watch all the films and were on rots. I desperately want the cut of the film where the opening space fight is over an hour long
It sounds bonkers

They spend 45 minutes picking vulture droids off each other's wings. And the end fight is over inside two minutes.
It's a much better film than what we got.

I can't see EA losing the license, but boy would I appreciate if they did. Though in reality, I don't see who else would wind up getting exclusive rights if they continued to go that way. Activision/Blizzard? Square Enix? Ubisoft? Doesn't seem like there's a viable company to come along and take it from them.

Maybe... maybe exclusive rights isn't the way to go.

Really I feel this is what they really should show what the Empire is instead of the fringe elements and instead of garrison or naval ratings troops
Damn you, Mark Hamill!

Yeah, I think a problem I had with both FA and LJ is that they feel like one movie divided in two, not like two distinct episodes.
Put another way: if this was a serial, FA and LJ would be a season finale two-parter, except we haven't seen any of the preceding season.
Put a third way: If the Star Wars franchise is an album, FA and LJ are one song split in two, while all the other entries each are their proper song.
May the fourth be up yours
And also in you.

So once again, most of the problems with TLJ are because of things the preceding movie did or didn’t do.
Andrew must be wearing comfortable shoes because that was a long walk.

A long walk, but I think the destination was worth it.

It feels like atla if sokka was the main character.
But I do so love low stake star wars.
