You know what, this is a great set. I put on the Empress Gamma Waist to go with it, and three levels in Tool Specialist meant I could have Fireproof or Temporal on more or less constantly. One Tenderizer Jewel maxed out weakness exploit, which helped my damage output quite a bit, and in general this is just really good! It doesn't make fighting AT Luna into a relaxed affair but it makes it a sight less stressful
This Tempered and Arch-Tempered business all sounds so thoroughly unpleasant.
With the masochistic direction the series has been moving in, I've strongly questioned whether I'll want to play whatever is next.
I've also wondered whether wider audiences will stick around if they keep cranking out obscenely difficult battles.

Tempered is ok, Arch-Tempered is just not appealing to me at all even though I really want those layered armors. It's limited to the small group of monsters we've already been farming for months, giving them more damage and health and minor tweaks that make them do their most annoying attacks more often, and basically impossible to do with a group of randoms. No thanks.

One thing I like about the Zorah Gamma set is that it's a very "I don't give a shit what you're doing, monster" kind of set. Windproof, earplugs, tremor resistance—mix in the right waist and legs and you could really be cooking with gas. It's clearly an anti-Zorah set, like how all the AT sets are pretty good at taking down their monsters, but it feels like it might also have applications against some beasties like Bazel, Nergigante, or even Behemoth
it's a cool set thematically but tremor resistance and windproof do drag it down. wish they'd bumped those pieces up a bit. the helm could have used a bit more in slots and the chest could have used more crit eye or maybe a point of handicraft
the waist is fantastic, the gloves are the bazel helm which is also pretty good. legs are great for blast weapons.
i dunno i'm having a tough time assembling a three piece combo that's not very niche. making the hands worth it means slotting in earplugs. the legs are only good for blast, not para or sleep.
I think I might be done with Monster Hunter World for now.
I've had a lot of fun with it, I think I've clocked about 150 hours and hit MR80ish but the decoration farming grind will put me off completely if I try to stick with it.
Definitely fall into the more monsters camp rather than harder. Tempered is fine and challenging but just cranking up the chances of getting one shot more isn't really my thing.
If there was a way to use the melder to turn all these acrobatics gems into something actually useful I'd be way more engaged.
Finally picked this up on steam. For a port, it’s a very good transition, the Kbam controls work seamlessly. This is my first MH game so I’m still working on the fighting techniques (currently using the sword and shield)

I can't speak to Arch-Tempered because PC, but so far Tempered monsters have felt less difficult than G-Rank to me.
What I really never want to see again are Apex monsters. God, what a miserable mechanic that was. Oh, you didn't play flawlessly in your 60 second Wyrmstone window? Go sit at camp for five minutes and think about what you've done.

I ended up with a weird repeated crash after letting the game run for ~1-2 minutes, so I just returned it.

Got my third Artillery decoration, have yet to find Magazine. Though as the fashion on Death Stench legs leaves a lot to be desired, perhaps I'm being shielded until some of the special gear hits PC. Put together a Handi 5 build anyway, if I'm honest I'm fairly bad at landing my SAEDs.
So do these Autumn Festival tickets have a use besides the Harvest armor and the layered version?

Unrelated: Whenever I do the Diablos/Black Diablos arena match, I always feel really awkward, like I've wandered across a married couple getting into a heated argument. My hunter's like "I see you two have a lot to discuss, I'll be in the corner hiding behind my shield."

damage is a hair on the low side but not getting knocked out of charges every six seconds and scared shitless on every nova is probably worth
