Dragalia Lost: Dragon, dragon, reroll the dragon.
Dragalia Lost is an action RPG from Cygames (of Granblue fame/infamy) and Nintendo's fifth mobile game (sixth if we count Pokemon Go). It's about a Prince, the youngest in the royal succession, who has to form a pact with a dragon in order to save the kingdom against generic fantasy enemies, the fiends. But things quickly get more complicated than that. Gameplay is comprised of short action segments broken up with story bits: you lead four characters into battle, moving around with swipes and attacking with taps. Characters have their own skills you can use, and you can swap between characters to personally control them. The big gimmick is shapeshifting, with a meter filling up allowing anyone on your squad to shapeshift into whatever dragon you "bonded" (read: equipped) to them. You can also get a helper skill from an online player (or nobody if you choose to be antisocial) to help you out in a pinch. You can use helper skills from friends more often than randos, so work on that friends list.
The game also features co-op, which is probably a good idea since characters you AREN'T controlling in solo games have dreadfully bad AI. There's also things like raids which is basically a co-op game but everyone has their own squad of four. Sounds like a delightful clusterfuck.
If the game has a downside, it's that it's a gacha, which means one of the more abusive forms of "free-to-play" in mobile gaming. Fortunately the game does throw decent four-stars characters at you throughout the story campaign, so you should be able to do everything at a base level comfortably. Just don't stress out about min-maxing and focus on your four favorite pulls and everything should work out.
Here's a lengthy video from Nintendo about the game if you want to know more:

- You get wyrmite for playing with new people online, so do co-op games until that dries up.
- There's an introductory event for launch with endeavors that award a free ten-pull, so get on it.
- Rerolling is for cowards.
- Don't forget the free item summon every day.
- Tap "More" on the main menu, then "Options" and then "System." Scroll to the bottom and download the whole game so you don't have to wait all the time between quests.
- Always tenfold summon unless there's some event that alters rates

I'm trying to only accept requests from names I recognize at this point so if your name is wildly different from your forum name, lemme know or something
literally because i cannot download it
just sayin'
Here's a reddit post with supposedly the odds of getting various specific things like any 5 star character or dragon or a specific character or dragon on a ten pull, if you want to know that:

Also the first big event is going to be a 1-day raid event on this coming Monday to fight a raid boss and get a character:
https://my.nintendo.com/news/fc92ff72fc62803c Apparently a "raid" means it's a multiplayer quest where 4 players get to all bring their full 4 member parties into the boss fight at once, so that should be chaotic. The raid boss is a fire enemy so strong water characters will be helpful.
It’s a very common sentiment
The advice I’ve heard is to do a normal attack first so it doesn’t think you’re trying to walk
Which reminds me, why the heck is there no gender selection for the protagonist? Granblue had it, FGO had it. Lame.
But he still shows up in every story bit, which sucks. Seems like it would have been simple enough to pick him or his sister as the protagonist, and have the other be the Auspex.
my code's 4989 4087 470
But there's just a straight up toggle that allows you to swap at any time between Gran and Djeeta (default names)
Shame that they didn't do anything similar here, so far the story would not really change in the slightest if Euden was a girl instead
It's kind of hard to pull off the charge attacks since the game thinks I want to move. Also if I don't pay attention to my finger movements it's too easy to trigger dragon transformation or use a skill by accident. One thing I do find it funny that all the dragons in the gacha are literal dragons and then suddenly here's a giant Jeanne d'Arc "dragon". Hell of a wide attack radius she's got though.

do you know when they are planning to launch it in canadia?
Well... get back to me after Ch. 3.

Having played chapter 3, the story would not really change in the slightest if Euden was a girl instead.
Sorry, to be clear - I think that stuff is why the choice isn't there.

Yeah, they could have worked around it. Some of the adventurer stories hit the same deal.

Throwing all my resources at Nefaria for now; I like her design and she's fun to play. Just unlocked her third mana circle to finished her adventurer story and grab her last passive; now I just need to grind a whole lot of dark mats to upgrade everything. Unfortunately I'm not quite strong enough to unlock the dark expert trial yet; hopefully that will change after my smith finishes rebuilding and I can craft 4* weapons.
Mostly Zodiark
Over the centuries he became widely blamed and scorned, considered evil and corrupting
But really he just wants to help people and doesnt understand why giving people near unlimited power and no rules for using it might end poorly
Wizards.
No sense of right and wrong!

Not what I'm referring too. There's dialog at the start of ch. 4 that doesn't work then. Malora's bit doesn't work as well either, but her stuff could be changed and be a net benefit anyways.

It's the increased cap that becomes critical and that's not till you're hitting the current endgame level stuff
shounen anime protagonists don’t know what time it is
Also I think it affects how many tiers they can go up mana rings?
But yeah, the game giving you 4*s of each element is really helpful for evening out bad luck. Also with how important element matchups are, it means you always have a good option for a map.
I have a 5*. It's easier to use 4*s with element advantage most of the time.

Trying to get a Force Charge off is fiddly as fuck. Game either does it or makes me move around while the shielded enemy is locking on to me specifically to knock me away repeatedly.
I’m an idiot, the raid event lasts a week. I can’t process dates that aren’t in mm/dd/yyyy format.
shrug
I like the art style, the action is simple fun, the music has a fun Persona vibe
My first two pulls landed me a five star nefaria and a 5 star ifrit so uh sure I’ll play this game for a bit
