During one of the (relatively) recent Final Fantasy finales for a GDQ a donation train started based on getting everyone in Twitch chat to give $5, and it ran for longer than it was meant to and the tracker was flying like a motherfucker.
I wonder if we can get that to happen again today.
i liked the fake boshy run, and he only did saves for things he had already beaten but didn't have time to go through all the phases. you know, exactly like the necrodancer run did because incredibly hard things are hard to do.
i don't want gdq to avoid doing things that are nearly impossible just because people might have to use safety saves.

I think everyones problem was more about the timing of the run.
Though I personally feel the last day runs are not as interesting as they have been. Maybe it is because there aren't many games I am super into or knowledgable on? I know I would love to play Dark Souls but I just don't know anywhere near enough to understand what is going on.
I'd like it if they mixed up the run timings more.
In my timezone, half of the runs I can see are the ones they play overnight, so I miss most of the big ones.
Nobody remembers the singer. The song remains.

Even so the schedule is set to wrap at the 10pm hour, it's usually past midnight somewhere. Also today they've been hauling ass with shorter break periods. Are they being hustled out by the hotel or something?

I assume they have to be out by noon tomorrow and if they’re not tearing down by midnight they won’t make that.
Mario Boss Rush incentive is looking pretty rough now. I assume it has to finish by the end of the run, in ~30 minutes or so, and has over $100k still to go.
Edit: 10 minutes later and they just made like.... $30k or something ridiculous? They started a $5 donation train hahaha
Edit2: HAHAHA they met the incentive! That's ridiculous and hilarious
This little segment is so scripted but I'm loving it so much. The gloves and the graphs are making me giggle.
The gloves are, I believe, because he's actually handling that grand prize at some point (which is, imo, the best grand prize they've had at one of these that I can recall).
looks like i tapped out just before things started getting really wild. stupid international time zones! glad to see they were able to keep up the pace and push past last years total. $2.5M Hype for 2020?
I feel like every marathon they have one of these "I Wanna Be the Whatever" masocore platformer runs and they never go well.
I found the runner for I Wanna Be The Boshy entertaining, personally. It's not my kinda of game, but it was fun.
For me his first "i wanna be the guy" run is my go-to run whenever i introduce someone to these events.
The dry selfdepreciating comedy, a good couch thats writhing in agony as the intentional deaths are racked up for charity and skilled gameplay at a very hard game all add up to a very entertaining and short little run

$200,000.00 - Clear the Dark Side Boss Rush after the Super Mario Odyssey run.
This... feels like a shorter day than usual.
They keep emphasizing that SMO is a LOOOONG run.

Also, the crowd is going crazy for this 2 million push, $5 at a time (and some big ones mixed in).

I think that's Cappy from Mario Odyssey in his regular form
