I don't believe that. I think most people give in and let things be this way, but some people actually do things that there is no profit, even a loss, in.

I don't know if I've embraced it, exactly, but I've certainly come to accept it. I mean, I wish it didn't, but I also know there's nothing to be done about it.

Or are you saying that people only do things that benefit them? Even if it means feeling good about themselves or sleeping at night without guilt or feeling good for doing a good deed?

I hate that because doing something for that kind of 'profit' is way different than doing it for money.

    Progress isn't even real.

Yeah, how is better entertainment progress? in the, lets get rid of disease and hunger and go into space sort of way? That's like saying being able to go on stage with the stripper and touch her is progress.

I couldn't agree more. As much as I love films and such, I think the entertainment industry is one of the largest wastes in society today. In the perfect world, all the money used in that industry could be put towards curing evils on this world or furthering our knowledge of space. But humans are too stupid for that, and we're so used to watching movies and TV that to think of getting rid of it is way too much to handle.

    Man, I loved that movie.

I don't know about you guys, but I watch all the special features on my DVDs. They're the best thing about having DVDs.

    (Not a yuppie.)

The interview with Jackman by Rachel Weisz while he's getting his fake tatoo's done is pretty cool, made me respect the guy a little bit more as an actor.

Totally. I mean, do you ever just stand there, outside the mall with your slurpee and new hat, bag full of miniatures/comics/dvd's, recovering from some fast food meal you were too lazy to cook yourself and think about how you are going to spend the evening ordering pizza and watching movies while drinking beer and then capping the night off with some warcraft 3 and think "WOW, I am a waste of fucking life. There are people somewhere dodging bullets and living in fear and I'm standing here with my fucking toys and Season 2 of Lost?"

Good for you, Urian, a good photojournalist can change the world.

You should be one of those that starts out revealing atrocities worldwide, then uncovers some government corruption, photographs it and investigates it until they are almost poisoned/killed. Then escape into reclusive obscurity in the mountains.
