OK, Faerie Vandal needs to go into my Cascade deck.
On that note, Psychic Corrosion is rotating out. Is there any decent replacement for it?
I think Drowned Secrets is the most direct replacement? It's cast rather than draw so not quite as good but it's (I think) the only non-creature-based mill passive
Hmm, I think I can make it work, but I'll have to build a new deck around it, not that much blue in the current deck.
Sucks so much that Brawl is never going to make use of Dominaria so many great commanders.
Brawl is standard? That seems like a bad idea...
especially when they introduce a Knight commander that cheats equip costs, but comes in as the best equipment cards gets rotated out. Oh well, that's what EDH is for.
which would be fine if I had a local paper Commander scene worth anything but I don't.

I won four with the Jund deck, and then switched the faeries for the last two wins. Pioloting the Jund deck taught me that I really need to pay more attention to how Arena stacks triggers. Lost a couple games I shouldn't have due to not thinking though the targeting process for all of the triggers and their interaction, especially in the Jund mirror matches.

I am sad to see a lot of the cards I liked in the event in that section, the Knight enchant and the tortoise hydra were both things I was looking forward to
KalTorakOne way or another, they all end up inthe Undercity.Registered Userregular
you can check the card number at the bottom; there are 269 cards in the main (draftable) set, any cards with numbers higher than 269 are exclusive to the Brawl or Planeswalker decks. Still in the set and standard legal, but won't show up in draft and probably not powerful enough for standard.
Ashiok is surprisingly good in this meta. Hamstrings the field of the dead deck, and actually does good work against control decks that take a long time to kill you. I've been very happy with my mill deck lately.

There’s a lot of graveyard shenanigans right now so that makes sense

I've added her to my Vampires sideboard. It shores up a couple week match ups, for sure.
17 days left until rotation. I'm currently on track to hit L96 via daily quests and weekly xp awards if I've done my math right. Those last four are gonna be obnoxious if the only way to get there is 200xp for every two consecutive wins in the Standard 2020 event, but those start tomorrow and run until rotation so maybe I can string together 20 pairs of wins over 16 days. We'll see.
That whole fairy deck is kinda silly tbh. When the pieces come together it is really difficult to beat.
Honestly I think the blue creature that turns an artifact into a 4/4 flyer each combat phase is kind of the unsung best card in it.
I think that one is honestly a little win-more. It's pretty easy to remove on its own and it really needs you to already have the */3 suit out to immediately threaten huge damage. Similarly, while the hexproof artifact dragon is absurd in grindy matchups (hello, fighting the Jund deck) it's a clunky flier that cantrips a lot of the time.
The real strength of the deck is, to me, just that it's cheap, efficient, and has great filtering (if not draw power). Multiple mana rocks and cantripping artifacts allow you to pretty consistently get out a T4 or T5 Commander + Artifact, and generally have interaction to stop opponents who are greedy enough to play their commander (Frogify is nuts). And because you have cheap artifacts and enchantments on the board, getting some life and a fairy from suiting up your commander with +1/+1 per enchantment/artifact creates a must kill threat, and fliers are really hard for most of the decks to fight. Plus, the "blue creatures get +1/0 and you can make blue mana" rock is absurd.
It feels like the closest to a "real" deck of them, with synergy letting it play aggro and control equally well. Knights is clunky and can't decide if it wants to focus on the super expensive commander or on full aggro, Jund is a little too cute for its own good and needs more ramp, and Bant could probably lean into the flash-subtheme harder and cut some mediocre filler creatures (and Parhelion, which is a baffling addition). None of the decks are bad (besides maybe knights), but faeries is the only one that feels tuned. Like, the most cuttable card in the deck is...maybe the faerie that makes an artifact a 4/4?

My favorite win was when I equipped Golden Egg with a weapon and smashed the opponent with it.
I have a friend of a friend who runs a creature Nicol Bolas Commander deck with the goal of casting Bludgeon Brawl, Nicol Bolas Dragon God, and Mycosynth Lattice and beating people to death with a Nicol Bolas wielding Nicol Bolas

I'm up to level 94 on my Mastery and will assuredly hit 100 sometime in the next week, so I'm thinking I might spend some time this week conceding the event to anyone who doesn't have the flying cat.
Also, turns out I'm just not good at M20 drafts in specific. Been playing Ravnica drafts and immediately go back to winning 7. For some reason, I just can't build a decent M20.

I'm in the same boat. Had a M20 deck with Vivien, the black cavalier, and moldervine reclamation that got 0-3 roflstomped. Switched to GRN and went 7-1 with a Selesnya deck that had 3 rosemanes, 3 beetles, 2 hawks, a rock charger, and no rares.

yeah and that's one card in a 60 card deck that's worth equipping.
Does Brawl at least have a side board so that you could tutor for stuff with Karn?
Kethis's_Mardi_Gras.dek is extremely fun
which would be fine if I had a local paper Commander scene worth anything but I don't.
I got one at work :-)
Edit: I'm 6-0, but i have doubts I'll close it out. these creatures are blech.

It’s not clear if the cards featuring commander mechanics will be in the normal draft set. I’m guessing not.
They are not. They are only available in the precon Brawl decks.
Command Tower and Arcane Signet will technically be legal in Standard (and Modern) but they have no revelant abilities outside of Brawl/Commander.

I was only able to cast it once. They conceded before I could bounce their board.

Seriously? A free Commune with Dino's that hits any creature, not just dinos, as your first spell, then only 1 mana more the rest of the game? Busted.
Also it's an Instant...
