good god Justin's character sounds like he's gargling gravel
Further TAZ musings:
oh my god, Clyde Knight's Knight Night School
officially its
Clyde Nite's Night Knight School
So I am really curious to see where they take the characters. Griffin's definitely seems to have the most fleshed out concept right off the bat, but there were some little things here and there that made me suspect some stuff for Clint and Justin.
-So Griffin is confirmed to be playing a Wild Soul Barbarian (a path from Unearthed Arcana) which is basically a Sorcerous Barbarian, so I'm guessing his Barbarian rage combined with figuring out he had magic as part of that was why he got kicked out of Knight School.
-Clint's question about picking which Hero he interned/worked for, as well as being the one that seems to be the most enthusiastic makes me think he might be a fanboy of a particular hero? Maybe a bit of a Deku type for My Hero fans.
-Justin I'm thinking got exiled for something. Reading about Firbolgs there was some stuff about some getting exiled from their clans as punishment for things
I hit a hard wall on one of the RTS sections in Brutal Legend and literally could not beat it. My command of the system was insufficient to destroy enemies faster than they spawned. It was a forever war
Brutal Legend is Pretty Good. The abrupt RTS shift was disappointing at first, despite it being relatively fun even though I was complete garbage at it and basically every fight took me an hour+
I'd say it's worth a play if you're into the aesthetics and music.

I lost the final battle multiple times, using a mix of units, before looking up a guide.
Turned out the winning strategy was to just make lots of the basic guys and nothing else.
I looked up Brutal Legend on Steam to see if I had it, which I completely forgot I did.
Steam's new layout shows you community stuff about the games, like screenshots, news, guides, streams, etc. It popped up probably the best Guide I've ever seen on Steam: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1274046000
It's absolutely massive and has tons of links to music and bands, it's way way more helpful than any Guide I've ever seen on Steam lmfao

Vox is in a much healthier position and I don't believe they've been infected by venture capitalists yet. But SBNation especially has some very real problems, mostly in their team specific blogs, which...Deadspin often reported on.
The college side of SBNation actually splintered off and became it's own thing and I'm not sure exactly how they work WRT the rest of SBNation
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
What if giant bomb reveals that the whole reason they're doing the 80s song list is because they're not doing GOTY in the traditional way this year so they're throwing a bone to people who wanna hear arguments about lists
Kevin Smith, much like his movies, hasn't really changed much in the past few decades.
He's someone that speaks without thinking, desperately craves acceptance, and still relies on pot/dick jokes, but he's also seems to be a family guy and someone who's heart is always in the right place and still seems more comfortable in Jersey with his friends than in Hollywood.
Yeah, I haven't heard anything about his response with Johnny Depp's allegations, but Kevin Smith did pledge all of his residuals for all of his films made with Weinstein and Miramax that he receives since the allegations about Harvey Weinstein surfaced to the Women in Film organization. And when he realized how little that would actually be monetarily for the group, on top of those residuals, has decided to donate in perpetuity $2000 a month to the organization.

Today's Beastcast: Can Hideo Kiojima teach Dan to have patience, and play a game for something other than the gratification of feeling powerful?
Absolutely not.

It sounds more like he's frustrated with the layer upon layer of unnecessarily complicated mechanics, a significant amount of which is based on encumbrance, and which makes sense given how he feels about Red Dead which seems to do that in a much cleaner way than Death Stranding does

The RTS stuff also ruled and yes I am ready to die on that hill

That said, it was the Bigfoot prequel that made me laugh so hard I entered "probably shouldn't listen to this while driving" territory.

God, I would get unreasonably excited for a SotN remaster and I don't know why: that game is already 100% perfectly fine to play in modern times.

It's hardly a feat for Elon Musk to embarrass himself. He seems to do it constantly unprompted.

When they tell Vinny “You know what you have to do now.” and he immediately falls off the stage

I haven't listened yet, but this feels extremely uncharitable
To Dan?
You think Dan would be up for ANY Kojima shit if it wasn’t pasted on top of cool guy action stuff?
No, but I think it's also possible that the game is just bad and it isn't just a personal failing on Dan's part
Which, hey, I get that

HEY!
He'd also be into it if it was pasted on top of farming.

I would like to see what bushit genre terminology Kojima could come up with if he were to make a Stardew Valley.
"My new game is the first in the Earthcare genre."
It's kinda both
This is literally the only metric by which I’m willing to judge Death Stranding.
For 20 minutes vinny tries to keep dan from being shitty about the game
And then he yells about how bad the game is for 20 minutes
It made me laugh a lot
