Hey, did you know there are podcasts that aren't about video games that feature hosts that aren't inexplicably awful to hear people argue about? Why don't we talk about those?
Punch Up the Jam just had their final Miel / Demi episode with Neil Cicierega and Open Mike Eagle. It is a blast, and answers the question "What
does make Ray Parker feel good?"
My Dad Wrote a Porno is back with Season 5. The identity of the special one has been revealed and there has been mention of a rusty prick. Win some / lose some.
Athletico Mince continues to probably be inscrutable to anyone that isn't British. The adverts for Stan Watson's Oily Wipes and the Kitty Batter this week were particularly good
Threedom just released an episode recorded in a hotel room on the CBB tour
Hello From the Magic Tavern is up to two spin-offs now, with EARTH GAMES! This week they played an improv game with Squibert the sort of evil frog. The season opener "Clue" was amazing
PFT has a new podcast "The Neighbourhood Listen" with Nicole Parker on Stitcher Premium. It starts soon and I'm excited!
Or just talk about the Giant Bombcast like usual, I guess. I'm not your supervisor
The one about the fucking space hairdresser and the cowboy. He's got a tinfoil pal and a pedal bin

Also I've been listening to the River City Girls soundtrack a whole lot.

What a dang ol' shame about every single bit of sexualization of the character
On paper she's like, the emotional backbone of the entire game
But kojima couldn't keep it in his pants

This and penumbra are things I can only take in small bites, for whatever reason
Also Welcome To Nightvale I guess, but I fell off that really quickly.
@Indie Winter , if you want those spoilers, click here
Then, someone draws a card, and according to the card "A project finishes early because someone has a brilliant idea" or whatever
The "brilliant idea" they decide on is using Affective Magic, or Augury, to pretend that Galenika has already started reconfiguration, in an attempt to scare the Gray Duke into compliance. Those responsible (Hella, Adaire, Epharim, Sunder, Victoria Lake, and Corsica) do this without Benjamin's knowledge, and as soon as he realizes what's happened he feels betrayed, and vows to figure out who's responsible. Art starts a project, which is Benjamin's investigation.
Benjamin's investigation finishes early (?), and he brings together basically anyone who wasn't at the meeting and lays out for them that he wants to potentially leave the University, as well as bring to justice those who used the magic he discovered in such a shitty way
And literally after that discussion happens and things are at their most tense,
The King of Winter is drawn. The Frost Shepard comes.
The tonal whiplash I had from one of the really great cutscenes about her past, to then taking her on a mission in the chopper while she stretched and posed was just the worst.
Way less crazily intrusive ads I will say

I thought black tapes started off really well and then it got very very very bad
do you mean serial as in a series of episodes that form a long plot or serial the other podcast
Serial the podcast. Or really just any fictionalization of a radio show
Hoisted
I generally liked that first season as an opening move into this genre but season 2 improves on it in basically every way and leans into the fact that a radio play based on a comic is going to be inherently pretty cheesy
Mild spoilers for the end of season 2
It also doesn't suffer from any plots that go nowhere - looking at you, cult from season 1
Everyone should listen if they haven't! It's all out and free on the regular podcast feeds
the spinoff is WAY WORSE
limetown is good tho
Crime Files is my favourite bit of Mince at the moment
But then... wait a minute
then I listened to a podcast
and you won't believe what happened... next
Like the Giant Beastcast, Giant Bomb Aftermath, and All Systems Goku.
Have they decided where All Systems Goku is going next? Now that both Jeff and Dan are full fledged weebs?
Apparently griffins are interchangeable.
they haven't talked about it since finishing DBZ, it sounded like they weren't sure if they were gonna go for DB, GT, or Super next

Whiiiich I would for sure LISTEN to but I'd enjoy Super a lot, lot more
I wanted to give Ben a big hug
