aw man with the holiday forum ended before i could get a definitive answer as to why they don't call themselves anime-niacs

Too long for Japanese, a true weeb would try to shorten it.

My power got disconnected today due to late payment despite my power bill always being set up for automatic draft and literally never missing a payment before.

I am very confused as to why my bank draft didn't work.

Aaaaaaaand $200 and 15 minutes later my power is back on.

    Jeez louise.

Tbh I’ve been in a bad depressive funk this holiday week because of my tinnitus and hyperacusis, regret over having made it worse through stupidity the other month (and how I got it in the first place earlier this year), but more also the fear of the future and living with it and fear of making it worse, and fear of having to give up a lot of things I love / change a lot of my lifestyle as a result

    It bites

    I know negativity isn’t helpful but 😭

Man I didn't think they could shut you off for one missed payment. I've had some friends get multiple notices before they actually turned the power off.

After my father died that Sept after a very overweight man came to my door in a unmarked truck demanding I pay $450 for the gas or he would shut it off. HE said it had to be in cash only right then.
He tore down the fence to shut it off. The 450 was the new customer fee even though I was the one paying the bill for the last 4 years.

    In 2015 the city shut off my water because I was late on paying them twice in a row. {by 5 days on the first and 2 on the second time}
This is just part of the long list of why I have not had a good time living here

Great news! Costco also sell glassware! And when you buy 144 port glasses you don't worry much about breakage...

Not much call for port glasses in Taiwan, but I’ll keep my eyes open.

You should fill out a complaint - there should have been 36 boxes of 4 glasses in that gross. One must have been misplaced during packaging.

Port can also be consumed out of anything that holds liquid, so that's a plus too.

    I hate the term "smart/casual"

No, just instead give me explicit examples

It is too difficult to figure out, the scope is huge of smart/casual.

    Smart/casual as in dress code?

This is totally different for guys vs gals so I couldn't 100% help with the smart aspect. In my mind "smart dressing" has a lot more to do with how well the clothes fit/are cut and match. You can look smart in anything assuming you take a modicum of time to think about it but I suppose the usual connotation is more formal wear.

If you tell me casual fuck you I'm showing up in jeans and tshirt that's the only acceptable casual.

    This advice is so conflicting!

What if I wear a dress (even a casual one) then I'm the only one in one. What if what if.

    I'm going to lie down.

Tuxedo t-shirt with suit pants. Flatcap headwear.

    Very brightly colored undergarments.

smart/casual is super easy for guys, which is good for me because women's fashion seems very confusing (because I am dumb)

Go casual. I'd just wear whatever you usually wear on a normal day augmented for comfort depending on how turnt and/or krunk you intend to get.

Maybe stretchy pants for optimal movement in the event of a dance off throw down.

Maybe it’s just the south but I have noticed a real trend towards wearing dresses every day in the UK. I feel like my sisters wear dresses 90% of the time and would definitely wear one to a party.

If you show up in a ballgown, you will not be underdressed.

    Guaranteed.

“Whoops, oh dear I’m the only one wearing a ball gown with my hair done up, how terribly embarrassing to look this amazing when everyone else is in jeans, why does this always happen to me, of course I will deign to dance a waltz with you young man, oh, where ever did this string quartet come from how droll.”

Edit: hah, one of my finer totps, if I do say so myself.

Summer/spring dresses seem to have fallen out of fashion here in the US which is a shame. For me, specifically. Because I find women in summer dresses incredibly attractive.
