It's very much worth highlighting how much of a banger the OST for this game is, and only a buck on Bandcamp! And only a single buck - amazing. I've only listened it a few times through but this may be his best Master Boot Record release yet, and I said that about his latest two releases - dude can make electronic music good with a very limited set of musical verbs

Listen to Dangerous Corp. if you wanna get pretend you're riding a motorbike at night with sunglasses on
Ah, my bad. All this time I'd assumed that "1K" was based on 1080p, but no. Also didn't really know 8K was really a thing.
Any thoughts? Mindless bunker hours alone are no fun.
IIRC rimworld was actually kinda hard? Or was it a different game that was basically dorf fortress, but in space?
It Certainly can be! but there are settings in rimworld to basically get rid of any 'difficulty' at all (i.e raids, sickness, any 'bad' events), Although i'm not sure i'd call it a 'city empire' kind of game... while you certainly do build rooms, bedrooms which can evolve and expand to cover the entire 'map', without the ebb and flow of the raids, sickness and events, there isn't much purpose... although there is probably a mod out there for it! so. many. mods.
But you can certainly tailor rimworlds difficulty to almost any liking.
You'll get there!
Once you beat the game, do make sure you do a run where you turn on the +boss modifiers. Mainly because what it does to Theseus is HILARIOUS

Also, I have no idea how to get so many diamonds. Or Titan Blood, really.
You'll get more opportunities as you unlock higher difficulties and game features.
But until you get more comfortable with the game you ideally want to focus on the Minotaur first and largely ignore Theseus, Theseus is kind of a pushover when he's alone(which ironically makes me wonder how he beat the Minotaur to begin with). He has a very predictable pattern - walk away a little bit, turn and throw, repeat - hide behind a pillar when he's about to throw. If he walks toward you instead for a spin attack, either back off or dash behind him. This doesn't change at all after he summons aid, it only adds having to dodge ground patterns periodically.
Happy birthday!
I'm about 30 minutes into it and I love it. I'm not particularly into Point and Click adventure games but it feels good so far. It's not as complicated as older ones where it's click on "walk to" and click the place to walk. Usually if you left click on something he walks to it and left click picks it up. If you need to use an item you go to your inventory and then click on the place you want to use it. Music and animation and graphics are as good as I expected.
No controller support though. Well... Not built into the game. I think Steam lets you map the controller inputs to keyboard though.
This sounds like a job for...
*whoosh spin whoosh*

Do not engage the Watermelons.
You gotta focus on just taking him down one piece at a time.

But don’t show-boat. He hates that.
I was going to try getting her to play Ticket to Ride, but her laptop is apparently too old. The version of OpenGL is too old for the game (1.1, it needs 1.5), and when I tried downloading the newest video drivers from the OEM's website (from 2013!), they won't install, claiming the computer is not of sufficient spec. Hope on Intel's site (it's Intel integrated graphics, of course) and it can't scan the computer to figure it out. I mean, yeah, it's an old machine (Dell Latitude E4300), but sheesh...
Edit: found Mesa3D OpenGL library courtesy of the OpenGL wiki. Got that sucker installed and it works. Granted the framerate is pitiful, but it's playable (I mean, it's Ticket to Ride, 60fps is not a requirement).
Now I just need to get her to play it instead of watching another Father Brown repeat.

I played the first 10 levels! My brain hurts!
@Betsuni for Grandia HD Remaster! Also @KoopahTroopah who sent it as well so I'll unfortunately have to decline that one, but thank you all the same!
@destroyah87 for Dragon Marked For Death!
@Karoz for MO:Astray!
I have a E4310, mostly for work but a bit of gaming. A few years back it was my only PC and it was surprisingly up to snuff for a fair amount of games. I can play fairly new games with low graphics requirements ok (Sundered, I Am A Monster, Ultimate Chicken Horse) but OpenGL has been a bitch. iirc, that was why KOTOR and KOTOR2 crashed (ironically I can run SWTOR at lowest setting)
I'm gonna have to look into Mesa3D

It was easy enough to download from GitHub and then get installed specific to that application (I didn't want to risk destabilizing any of the rest of the system).
I first saw it mentioned here, followed the link to here, which led to GitHub here. I picked the latest release version, 20.0.6 as of this post, here. Of the two "release" files in the Assets list I picked mesa3d-20.0.6-release-msvc.7z, although to be honest I didn't know if I needed that one or the other "release" file. Turned out to work. Unzipped it into a folder, had a look at the readme (online; the one in the download is just a link), and ran the "perappdeploy" command file. It ran under the command line, and asked for the folder path for the application, and then the .exe file to work with. I basically answered "yes" to all its subsequent options although TBH I was a bit lost. The last one actually turned out to loop back to the start to ask about another application, so I exited out and tried TTR, and it worked.
As usual with GitHub stuff, I was a bit lost; but I got there in the end.
The machine is decent for its age, definitely. KOTOR and KOTOR2 (at least the original release of the latter) had been out for years beforehand so with functioning OpenGL the machine should have more than enough grunt for it, assuming the Intel GPU is up to par which I'd expect it would be.

The simple solution is just to make the UCS Millennium Falcon your new coffee table.

I thought it was to rough. I think a rouge lite. How rogue legacy you lost but could slowly make overall progress. I did not think rim world was right.
And 2d terraria? Looks interesting. I was hoping more menus. Lol. I got more here than i would have anywhere else though.
Nice to say hi steam thread. Been a while.
Oh, I had already taken down the Minotaur.
Oh just wait until tomorrow
Don't worry, I haven't forgotten that yours is in 5 days...
And KOTOR II is running. I've got flipbook frame rates, but it's a start.

I'd be curious to see if KOTOR has the same issue. KOTOR2 did have that surprise patch a few years back that modernised it a bit, the side-effect of which was massively bumping up its minimum spec. To modest levels for the time it happened, granted, but it did leave older machines that previously had no issue with it out in the cold a bit. From the store page:
I don't see that support link on the page. But there is a "legacypc" branch in the Beta section of the Steam properties. That looks promising.

@destroyah87 for Dragon Marked For Death! This looks like a neat game, a cross between Megaman and Monster Hunter if the reviews are anything to judge by, so I'm definitely all here for it!
@Pixelated Pixie for Final Fantasy XIII-2! I did play FF13, though I didn't actually finish it, and have been told that the second installment is much more fun compared to the first, so I'm looking forward to that.
@Stabbity Style for Tametsi! Never heard of this before, but looking at the page it seems to be a particularly creative Minesweeper taken to the next level, so that sounds pretty neat.
@Betsuni and @KoopahTroopah for Grandia HD Remaster! This one's definitely got some age on it but after seeing a Youtube video about the game it looks like a lot of fun!
@Karoz for MO:Astray! Seems like a fun action-adventure type game featuring a parasitic slime for a protagonist? Interesting!
Thank you @Spoit for Murder By Numbers! I've seen this one bantered around some on the forums. Like a more anime type of Phoenix Wright game, which sounds like plenty of fun to me!
Thank you for Record of Lodoss War -- Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth! Huh, wasn't expecting to see something from Lodoss War on Steam. That's a pretty ancient anime. Game itself looks like their take on Metroidvania, and I love good Metroidvanias.
*Editing because I'd rather not quadruple post, triple posting was bad enough and y'all keep sneaking in as I'm doing these posts
Thank you @Mugsley for the Steambux! Don't know what I'll use them on just yet, but there's a sale coming soon enough so these'll be handy.
Recently played it for the first time in at least 20 years and working up the patience to start Exile next, which puzzle are you stuck on?
And don't say "fire marble dome" or so help me!
Something I found really helped with Myst and those type of puzzles is keeping a notebook next to the computer where you sketch and make notes of observation you encounter during your journey for an area. Treat it as you are a naturalist, and you'll often find that the solutions are pretty much in plain sight. It's a different way of playing games, but I found it makes solving the puzzles much easier and gives it a different feel that I quite enjoyed.
You can also just use a walkthrough, but that may ruin the puzzles for you.
In terms of volume my mother plays more video games than I do. She just churns through all the hidden object and gem-matching games she can find at Big Fish.
