I tried it out last night on PC, and the controller "support" isn't great, unless there's a menu option that I can't find to map controls to a PS4 controller. Mouse and keyboard would take a lot of getting used to, but I'm going to try again soon with the XBone Elite controller and see if I can map to all the fancy paddles and such. Otherwise, I'll be trying to find a HOTAS setup that isn't sold out or $$$.
There is apparently a bug in the Fleet Battle tutorial where, if your ship is destroyed (at a particular undisclosed point? destroyed at all? I’m not exactly sure) the Star Destroyer can be brought to 1 HP, but not destroyed, and the mission cannot be completed.
I spent about 45 minutes or so throwing myself at it over and over before I discovered this.
I'm not a fan so far - it feels sluggish. Not nearly as smooth and easy to fly as the starfighter battles in BFII.
Not saying you’re wrong cause I expect this is true but this is also definitely intentional, the star fighter battles are by nature intended to be way more arcadey than this game
Re: controller like Tonkka said, mapping is a little weird, but my understanding so far is that controller is the best performing input atm unless you remap the axis on your HOTAS to fix the dead zone stuff. Sounds like they’ve got patches in the works for a lot of it though!

I did a test run with the XBone controller and it felt better. I have yet to spend any actual time with this, but I can't wait to take an afternoon or evening to do so.
So now that I’m in the correct Star Wars thread i would like to take this post to remind everyone how fucking cool Admiral Thrawn Is and we should all rewatch rebels.
Thrawn was great but the coolest thing that happened in Rebels and perhaps the coolest thing in Star Wars was
in that season 2 episode where Ahsoka is fighting the inquisitors and in the middle of her fight she just puts her lightsabers away and starts meditating, and when the inquisitor brings her spinning blade down Ahsoka just friggin grabs the hilt out of the air, turns it off and tosses it away.

The coolest thing to happen in Rebels was the duel in the desert and it's not even close.
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
A trap is for fish: when you've got the fish, you can forget the trap. A snare is for rabbits: when you've got the rabbit, you can forget the snare. Words are for meaning: when you've got the meaning, you can forget the words.

That is tied with two scenes from TLJ for my favorite Star Wars scene.

Ezra: I'm not afraid of you!
Vader: Then you will die braver than most.
*they fight, Vader destroys Ezra's lightsaber and he winces in fear*
Vader: Perhaps I was wrong.

Perhaps the greatest tragedy of Anakin Skywalker is that he never really got to be a father to his kids. Because he has always been strong with the Dad Jokes.
well I did both the tutorial and a fleet battle against ai but apparently since I disconnected from EA after I won I don't get jack shit
If you're talking about the "Win a Fleet Battle v AI" challenge not completing its because it only counts if you play in Co-op mode (aka with other people but still against AI).

I really appreciate how granular the UI stuff in this is but damn if I didn't realize how much of a handicap starting with 'Instruments Only' was till I got around to turning on some of the other things. Being able to keep track of which way an enemy is off-screen feels like cheating after using the radar for that the whole time, and there's a bunch of little things about deployables and repair stuff I'd never figured out without the on-screen pointers.
If Kelly Marie Tran doesn’t become the Goddamned Queen of Star Wars, beloved by fans, feared and respected by neckbeards, I’m building a Death Star and blowing this worthless planet the fuck up.

She got a goddamn standing ovation at Celebration when she showed up.
God, TROS was such garbage and I will never get over it.
So deep in my rebels rewatch and you know what ? Agent Kallus is an underrated original character . I enjoy his scenes both before and after his characters “event horizon” ( struggling for a term that fits what I mean but is also spoiler free) immensely.
Well started my clone wars rewatch to distract myself from my latest failures and fucking wow that original Ashoka model is bad. I had completely forgotten about that . Also can’t help feeling so bad for some . Luminara and her padawan for instance , especially the padawan. She was an absolute sweetheart until she lost her goddamn mind.
Halfway through the episode and big deadwood / justified / western energy. I fucking love it . They also broke my fucking heart , I wanted it to be true so bad.

Did the prologue last night and it worked fine, I may look at tweaking stuff but I had no issue pulling last second dodges off

My favorite bit from that whole scene is:

Starring Rose Tico and almost guaranteed to treat her better than TROS did.
