Yup. Tried him in 2 games of QM. Won one and lost one. In my victory, I spent most of my time clearing lanes and taking camps. When I joined combat, I honestly was a bit lost. Tried to toss out D to enable Q/W, but it became a mess.
Figure I'll work more on Slam build Sonya instead. She seems pretty strong right now.
Also, total aside, but a local friend of mine just got a job at Blizzard working on WoW as an Audio Producer. Pretty cool to see him work his way up the industry.

I was looking all over YouTube for that video of you doing the Goku scream, lol. My son is starting to get interested in DragonBall, and I wanted to show him. Never found it, so I ended up defaulting to showing him that scene where Majin Vegeta fights Goku.
Hogger's D+Q combo is not worth trying. Angles way too finicky and you'll blow a SUPER long cd Q. 12s cd is nuts on his Q.
Save your Q for a wall stun or a displacement that actually helps. You can also cancel channels with D very reliably like pyroblast, ravenous, holy word salv, stay a while, so on and so forth.
The stun ult is really nice in setting up wall Q stuns. It gives you enough time to walk to the side and Q into a wall if close.
Hordapault is also great and has many uses on a low cd.

Hogger is a Hero you really need to put in time with. His kit is very strong, but also difficult to use effectively, so he's not a Hero I suggest players "dabble with"; in my opinion, you're either a Hogger main, or you basically don't touch him. Kind of like Genji.
And then you have to really ask yourself, is there anything you can do with him that you can't do just as effectively on, let's say Sonya, for probably half the amount of effort? I would argue that, for a vast majority of players (including myself), Sonya is the safer, easier, more consistent, less RNG option, and will overall result in a much higher win% when selected over Hogger for the same role / position.
You can displace with the Hoard, too. Real easy to knock Nazeebos from far away with it. It also does a smidge of damage. Killing Hanzos or Tracers by throwing that thing at them is one of my favorite joys in this game.

Not to be pedantic but they aren't actually halved. They cooldown 50% faster. That makes Q an 8 second cooldown rather than 12. It'd have to be a 100% faster cooldown rate to get them to half.

Not to be pedantic but they aren't actually halved. They cooldown 50% faster. That makes Q an 8 second cooldown rather than 12. It'd have to be a 100% faster cooldown rate to get them to half.

They're played in similar roles and fill similar functions. For example, they're both mana-less Bruisers with strong self-sustain, merc potential, and wave-clear, who are known for jumping into the backline and wreaking havoc while being simultaneously difficult to effectively pin down or peel.

The only thing that's easier to do with Hogger than with Sonya is running away. And even there you have to have the discipline to save your E or R as an escape.

I did 5 takes on that scream and my voice was fucking spent for the day. At that point, I'd only been doing VO work for 6 months, but closed over 100 jobs.
After clearing 500 jobs, I got a vocal coach and she's been really impressed with my work. Now I've got a sound booth and am getting ready to push into bigger jobs where I'm making actual money (~$200-300) instead of the pittance I see now ($15-30).

32 minute Dragonshire game. Would have been over 10 minutes earlier, but the team just loved going in after we got an advantage. I think I capped 10 merc camps and went all-in on double Lava Wave to keep the lanes pushed up. Normally I'd go Molten Core at 20, but the map said otherwise this time.

They are both brawlers who excel at camp clear and both have a solid place in the meta, it has nothing to with rage and spinning.
