I’m working on some Deathwatch intercessors at the moment. I don’t know if I actually want to play Deathwatch because their rules seem absurdly complicated, but they’re a lot of fun to build and paint

GSC have a lot of blasting charge weapons, maybe it's some bomb-centric unit/model?

Admech changes are all looking killer. There's so many cool but completely useless weapons in that army that seem like they might finally see the tabletop. The shift to reliable 3+ damage guns through cognis lascannons, arc, and torsion cannons is a nice place to be in the meta right now.

Worth noting that the four stubbers on Duneriders are now throwing roughly the same firepower as a five-man Intercessor squad, which helps a lot

I’m not seeing it. I’m seeing a button under the thumb and a trigger under the finger. Looks like another detonator.

Though the weapons don’t bother me as much as I hope it’s a non-Elite unit, or maybe vehicle.

Genestealers have more than enough character units, and the Elite slot is packed.

Changes like the galvanic rifle makes me kinda excited and dreading the reveal of the shuriken catapult. Probably a switch to ap-1 instead of the -3 on sixes. more range than a flamer would be nice but I'm not exptecting it. The cannon will probably become heavy and D2, similarly to the splinter cannon to bring all of these types of guns in line with the heavy bolter.

I plan on getting the Drukhari codex and some stuff when I go back to the store when he gets in the store anniv necron
He had in some of the older resin DE as I will see if he has in the wracks and haemonculi since I am lacking on those but again I am riding a bike
I am really curious what the awaits the Craftworlders now other than the updated :rotate: models. As the shuriken catapult will probably be assault but who knows

Opinion time; Shuriken catapults have been generally rubbish from 3rd edition onwards. 2nd edition, they used to have the same range as boltguns.

I'm not really sure why they got changed to a 12 inch range (I know Avengers eventually got the range increase), because for a long time, you rarely got the chance to fire the things. Thematically it makes no sense, because Guardians are effectively Eldar not on the warrior path, being pressed in to help fight the fight, in which case why give them a weapon that requires them to get so close to the enemy and has the same range as a pistol.

Craftworld need a big redesign from top to bottom really, both in terms of models and rules. It's a big job.

I don't really expect that to happen soon.

I think GW should also really release a CSM codex soon to those in line with the loayalists.

Going by rumour engine pictures GSC, Tyranids, Astra Militarum, and some Inquisition might be the next batch of books, but some releases don't show up in the rumour engine at all, so who knows what's after Admech, Sisters, and Orks.

    Also

My expectation for CWE in this edition is that they'll be one of the later Codexes and have a pretty major range revamp released alongside them. Could be wrong, but at this point they're the single faction that 100% deserves the extra attention.

    There's alot to do

Need to be replaced (all resin or metal):
    Avatar
    5 Phoenix Lords
    spiders
    hawks
    spears
    scorpions
    reapers
    dragons
    rangers
    warlocks
    storm guardians
    Yriel
    Irillyth

I would love an update (the sprues are very old, fit is awful, show their age, are extremely lackluster kind of models):
    guardians
    avengers
    falcon (prism/serpent)
    vyper
farseer on bike (more than just a warlock headswap)

    Are fine as is (imo):
    wraithguard/-blades
    wraithlord
    wraithknight
    flyers
    war walkers
    support platforms
    banshees (except for the price)
windriders (even if it's a boring kit)
farseer (additional alternative models would be nice)
autarch with wings (additional alternative models would be nice)
    Jain Zar
    bike warlock

New stuff that would be cool:
    wraith character (wraithseer for example)
    hornet
new phoenix lords for spiders and spears
new aspect, maybe some kind of bodyguard unit
    shadow spectres plus lord
generic aspect warrior character that takes the fighter role with the autarch being the command role.
    bonesinger

Hey, great idea! Primaris Eldar! Eldrad and some Haemonculus we’ve never heard of before get together to “improve” the Old Ones’ work with various upgrades like built-in acid spitters. Every squad is actually a bunch of clones of the sergeant so they naturally work together much better, but they’re sharing a soul, so they aren’t quite “all there” if they get separated, but it helps keep the numbers up and avoid most of the problems of wraith constructs.

...because dragons are AWESOME! That's why.

I am fine with the Farseer/warlock jetbike
I am kind of fine with the Dire Avengers current kit

What I want from a autarch is the rule of 3 to come back [helm, weapon and how they get around} The Warp pack to come back as an option as my brother still plays with his striking scorpion exarch with a warp pack as an autarch but I want the ability to swap between the current autarch kit and the future one. I have the autarch on waverunner I have been debating about buying a skyrunner to build my own.
It could be worse as my craftworld army is old as the hills as I have some of the first plastic guardians
    2ow0t6sw36al.png
As I did buy the catapult upgrade as they had the las guns an epoch ago
I do need to find a better case as a pistol case was ok but questionable when i got it for them now it's highly questionable

The Avatar needs that love as the current model is 30 years old

With the Falcon/Fire prisim I am fine with the Hull of it the turret of the falcon needs that update as do something like the forgeworld one
    bu0i4mw2s3l6.png
I know they fixed a problem the turret had way back then with the metal weapons now that the current falcon-wave serpent use now

    But really in order
    The Warp Spiders
    The Avatar
    The Shining Spears
    The Swooping hawks
    The Striking Scorpions
    The Reapers [I have a bunch of the rogue trader era ones none of the newer one}
    The Fire Dragons
The Warlocks! but would they be a single kit or a multi kit? THe farseer kit is ok but if they open up their options in the codex then they also need a new kit
    Rangers yes
The Skyrunner bikes I am fine with the vyper meh but what would they change it to?
I said my bit about the falcon

The guardians sadly yes I agree with you they need to roll in the storm stuff on the newer sprue so you can choose
But if they want to do corsairs bring out an additional sprue so you can get that look
I would like when they redo each aspect warrior to do the phoenix lord in turn
I know the shadow spectres are a forgeworld thing so who knows
The bone singer other than it being a vanity project I would like to see it have a use {like a repair/heal role for wraith units and other vehicles.

My wish list is as I said more of the redo of the falcon turret and Avatar are high on it the rest are just things I know I will get disappointed in

Yeah. I really hope they do a revamp of the Eldar vehicles. They really need a transport with some sort of assault ramps.

And it would be nice if it was at least two different kits, so Eldar can get away from the Rhino curse.

A new Avatar made in the same way as greater demons also seems like a no-brainer.
Would propably be easy to convert into a fire elemental for Lumineth, if/when they get something like that.

D.Avengers are fine. Given the amount that needs updating I imagine they’ll stay as is.

Guardians aren’t great but again, given the list of stuff that needs a complete do-over I imagine their perfectly functional if not massively exciting plastic sprue will remain for at least this edition.

Beside the need for a new Falcon Hull a dedicated big gun tank woulld be really nice as a second hull variant. Maybe something like a smaller Lynx. Sleeker, more stripped down to the essentials basically, withouth the big transport space in the back. With options for big pulse laser, warp cannon (could also replace the warp hunter), and sonic cannon. Then make the Falcon a transport instead of heavy, keep the Prism as the allrounder tank in heavy (mabe even give it the transport capacity, too) and add the new one as the more expensive specialised heavy tank.

We would like to inform you that the current release has been a limited regional run, which has now come to an end. Sounds like if you got in early enough you'll get the first shipment. If I had to take a SWAG it would be that they, as a printing company, had no idea how rabid the Warhammer community is, and were immediately deluged with a number of subscribers that were orders of magnitude higher than what they were expecting, leading them to delay the subscription service so they could build up an inventory of the magazines/paints/models/etc to warehouse so they don't have to worry about massive delays in shipping.

Most printing companies work on a "just in time" inventory system, but as the Evergiven has recently demonstrated, that system is incredibly vulnerable to literally any delay at any point in the supply chain.

Alternate theory - GW is working way under their normal production level die to Covid, so the printing company cannot fulfill orders due to a shortage in models/paints/accessories/etc.

Basically all the special characters, basic Lord, and C'Tan are still resin.
The not quite old plastic cryptec got turned into the technomancer and 3 new cryptecs got new models.
    Plastic Warriors got replaced
    Plastic Monolith got replaced
    Resin Flayed Ones got replaced
    Plastic/resin Destroyer Lord got replaced
Plastic Destroyers did not quite get replaced with new heavy destroyers
    Edit: plastic scarabs got replaced
    Edit: resin Szeras got replaced

And then they got 11 new units.12 if the heavy lokhust destroyers count. 15 if the cryptecs count. Only 2 of those units are built from the same kit I think.

In total: about 15 new, 6? replaced, 31? Old (8 of those named HQ/ctan)

Necrons didn't have a lot of Resin outside of the characters before and the replaced plastic models ar the ones that still got transparent green parts.

For a bunch of soulless mindless robots they've got a lot of character.

Pretty sure that list is missing a couple of bits?
The scarabs were replaced at the same time as the Warriors because they’re on the same sprue, same as they were before.
And Illuminor Szeras has a huge new model, in plastic, though technically it wasn’t released with the codex.

Also technically there’s a new plastic technomancer model, but it’s a store anniversary exclusive, or something?

I'm guessing all the Craftworld plastics out now will stay and they'll replace the missing aspects, the rangers, and then just put out new units to soft-replace older kits (like a fancy new apc tank design rather than a resculpted wave serpent)
