I woke up late today having completely forgotten it's saturday, panicked, then tried to get into the GW site from my phone while heading to my PC. In queue on both for about 20 minutes, thinking the entire time that pre-orders don't usually pop until 10pst, and hoping that's the case cuz the splash on the front of the page was orkless.

At 1000 on the button the page refreshed (without dumping me back to queue thank Gork and Mork) with the beast snagga box pre-order.

Windmill slammed the preorder button, hit the paypal button with no lag on the website, got a receipt within a minute.

Beast Snagga Box Ordered, new Orky avatar to celebrate

GW pre-orders always go up between 1255 and 1300 eastern. The front page doesn't update until 1300, but if you navigate directly to the pre-order section they're there.

So seeing that queues were in the 10-15 min range and knowing that, I made sure my queue would dump me into the store at 1255 to make sure my account was logged in and give me enough time to drill down to pre-orders and checkout before getting kicked out. Got in at 1257 and sure enough it was already there.

    TDLR: Beast Snaggas get.

So I guess I cant just browse the store and look at other things, absolutely everyone has to queue for anything to do with the store.

    That seems sub optimal.

Not releasing the standalone Ork codex on the same day seems incredibly shitty to me.

But Death Korps of Krieg models... in plastic...?

An army which started as an alternate paint scheme for Armageddon Steel Legion models... hmmm....

Boy, if they ever release plastic Valhallans, I'm in trouble. Which they won't. Not sure why, but GW has this arbitrary line when it comes to IG models, Cadians okay, FW models (DKoK) okay, any other older styles not okay.

Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing them revisit some of the older ones, or even come out with new regiments. They have plenty of unused styles from the line drawings in the 3rd edition codex, and even in the novels. They could design a brand new "space army" with sci fi tones that fits their aesthetic.

    Really I think this is the start of the unimaginable as if they do plastic steel legion I might res my guard but Mordian I know of someone that may come back to the game since it was his gripe the guard was not diverse, not having the parts to have female guard and got little love from GW {as I would counter the craftworlders are the same models I had in high school for the most part :(}

I know they have not shown the sprue for the Krieg and what they have shown it doesn't have heavy weapons or command options yet so...

I saw earlier that they have updated the heads for the Cadian sprues, but again, no female guard. At this point, it just feels intentional. it would have been so easy to include some female heads. Equipment and uniform issues could have explained the bulkier torsos.

If you're talking about that new guard sprue released a couple of months ago it 100% has female heads on it.

Perhaps I couldn't tell from the tiny picture on my phone. I will admit I'm probably wrong. But this is GOOD. GW has finally taken a step in the right direction.

I don't blame you for not noticing especially on a smaller picture. They're small heads and they have military haircuts so you really only notice if you're giving a solid look.

I mean you -can- you just have to wait to do it. I was quite perplexed when I tried to look up the triarch stalker for reference pics and got the queue page.

As great as the Beast Snaggas line is, I think GW missed a pip with the Kill/Hunta Rig. A plastic Squiggoth would have just... been better.

You could do a squig only list using spearhead detachments I think (whatever the FA one is)

Yeah, it would be pretty thematic to have the subfaction that is all about riding squigs get an updated model for the second largest Squig in the game (and either second or third largest Squig that GW makes in general, depending on whether we're going by weight or by volume).

I actually built a resin Squiggoth the other night, outside of needing some greenstuff to fill small gaps where the legs meet the body it's not a bad kit.

So new Ghaz lets you reroll all goff melee rolls. Fine sure, whatever.

But goffs now get 2 hits for every unmodified six.

Meaning there's the utterly unintuitive interaction of rerolling all your dice that aren't sixes even if their hits is more hits on average than just rerolling the fails.

    Cool.

People have been using unrestricted re-rolls to crit-fish since the original 3rd edition Rending rules. At least in 40K. Tesla weapons are the poster child lately.

Might be interesting to do a comparative probability chart on the total number of hits you are likely to get.

On phone so can't link, but War Comm has that model and some rule info for T Sons. Their doctrine equivalent seems to be these 6 pacts that each Lord can have 2 of.

The two preview were either canceling a unit's cover and overwatch, and a (fantastic) one that ups a unit's shooting by 1 S

I bet it does their entire thing is tutelaries if you read the article.

Also the buffs are good. Making a unit unable to get cover, overwatch, and set to defend or add 1 strength to all weapons in a unit. Which is great. Strength 5 warpflamers/warp bolters are damn sexy.

Also they are still psyker's with two powers.

Exactly my thoughts. I'm not entirely sure why that head doesn't work for me, but it doesn't.

(If I were ever to end up with one it's not like I don't have a million 'Marine buckets hanging around in my bits so I'm sure I could fine something suitable for him.)

    //

It also means the below Rumour Engine, which I had seen many speculate could be from the new T-Sons hero, remains unsolved:

That's the plan if you put full re-rolls on Celestine with her new sword rules too, a 6 to hit is 2 Mortal Wounds so despite hitting on 2s the best plan is to pick up anything that's not a 6 and reroll it.

If Tsons still have a Vets of the Long War equivalent (even if it is 2cp like Deathguard's), then using that and the pact will have you wounding MEQ on 2s.

Sounds bonkers, but with 10 man bolter Rubrics (they'll cut down the numbers lime they did for Plague Marines) you could kill a max of... 10 MEQ (16 shots/ 2 + 4 shots/ 2 from the Soulreaper cannon).

A 10 man termie squad would be able to kill... 20 MEQ (32/2 bolters + 8/2 Reaper cannons).

This DOES mean *optimal* output, so the real number of kills will be a fraction of that. It also means lumping resources onto a single unit, and telegraphing spell buffs as well.

It's powerful shooting, but not stupidly OP from what I've seen so far.
