I will say this, when I tested Stadia as a thing called Project Stream, we played Assassin's Creed Odyssey. At the end of the test, they gave us all a free Uplay copy of the game and transfered our saves over.
So it's very possible they'll do the same thing if Stadia dies, at least for Ubisoft games. Will they? :rotate:
I finally started playing Disco Elysium over the weekend, and I know I’m just echoing what everyone said like a year ago, but my gosh it’s extremely good
I’m trying to go in as blindly as I can, to avoid influences and make the experience as much my own as possible.
One question though - does anything in the game have a time limit? I’m a couple days in and I’ve noticed some things are time of day contextual, but nothing so far has seemed like it needs to be done asap.

Wasn’t that part of the deal though signing up for the test? If this sort of thing isn’t in whatever agreement you have when you buy a Stadia game, chances are the response will be, as mentioned, ‘fuck you’.
I really hope disco Elysian comes to Xbox soon. That’s where I’d most like to play it
Just finished the Outriders story, really enjoyed the ending. One of those stories I got more invested in towards the second half. Definitely going to spend some time in the endgame because I feel like the ending narratively supports that, which so few of these games bother to do

The world tier stuff is smartly handled for tweaking the difficulty, I like that it's there from the start.

yeah, things are time dependent, and time passes only in conversations and when you decide to read a book
but nothing is really on a time limit. So don't worry about optimising anything

As far as I remember, it was a surprise that they announced a short time before the end of the test

Ah, fair enough. I still think this is going to come down to individual publishers what they do with Stadia customers, and I’d bet some will simply let those customers be left with a dead purchase.
so I'm playing Evil Genius 2, and I feel like I'm missing something
in the original game you'd tag an enemy, and any minion who saw that enemy and was capable of dealing with them would immediately do so - a valet would rush to distract a target but wouldn't fight it, though a mercenary would
but now it seems like minions have to either spot a tagged enemy through a security camera or by encountering them in a specifically designated zone; but if I want to "distract" a target then the minions would approach it and instead of reducing its stats, they just escort it out to the casino
once the tagged enemy reaches the casino, they sort of... meander a bit? but then they go right back to trying to break into my base, no matter how many distractions I put in the way
do I have to treat the casino like some sort of tower defence and create specific pathways that channel enemies into choke points? it rather ruins the "casino" feel of the whole thing that way
I've actually just finished EG2 but when caught in the base and tagged to distract Valets (and muscle minions) will generally only escort them into the casino and walk away, they also operate some of the weaker casino items.
However, as you progress you unlock other distraction minions that're better but I'll put that info in spoilers
You eventually unlock Spin Doctors and Socialites. These act more like the Valets/others in EG1 where they actively interact with agents and damage their skill and resolve (I can't say for sure but it might also reset how many objects they can interact with. When you unlock them you also get more powerful casino items so you want to keep a good mix of items and minions who will keep most agents distracted until they either leave or you can assemble enough henchmen and muscle to deal with it.
I know you can create pathways using fences to ensure maximum distraction but also throwing enough minions at it.
FINALLY at higher Heat investigators will enter through the helipad entrance (on certain maps) which makes things much more complicated for managing investigators.
One last thing is if you've got room is to dig small 1x3 or 2x3 corridors to plug cameras into that will make it easier to err, remove someone from the casino as all the relevant minions get called out to bring them in.

I thought that was just in steam? Can you just switch region, buy it, and then switch back?

It was refused classification, so no stores, physical or digital, console or PC, are allowed to sell it.
Not sure how simply switching regions would go, we haven’t had to resort to that kind of thing for a long time.

So far it looks like PC versions haven't been pulled, and it's still available to buy on the various digital stores. I bought it from EGS a while back and it updated properly when the Final Cut dropped.

So just a no-go on consoles for now it seems.
Seems like a cheeky way to get past the classification board, doing it as an update to the already classified game.
But if it gets it past our dumb classification system, then good for them.

FTL update: Just got a Vulcan cannon as a random reward halfway through Sector 1.
Now technically this is a gun big enough to kill Space God, and if I can get it to the flagship in one piece I've won. But the Kestrel C only has two bars in the weapons system, and I need four to even switch this war crime on. And the Vulcan starts out shooting very slow before it starts shooting very fast, so if you try to use it without good shields and engines and preferably a defense drone, you'll die.
So now this run has turned into a version of the Marshmallow Test, where my survival depends entirely on my ability to delay gratification. This could get humbling.
Edit: This is a stupid game, I don't know why anyone plays it.
Is there any game folks like that's like a building/management game but for green spaces instead of paving things over? Playing Subnautica has me wanting to build a gigantic aquarium or something. I feel like Among Ripples is the closest to what I'm looking for but it is also both not out yet and seemed a little too simple.
Sounds like you're talking about Plantpocalypse the vegetable RTS game that does not exist

Might try Planet Zoo. A lot of that game is creating just the right enclosure for your animals, and with their aquatic pack, you can get some of that aquarium feeling.

Do we know the specifics about what was refused classification? Because they did add some new content, and I'm curious if it was any of the new content or literally just them hearing the words spoken out loud that had already been written in the previous release that got 'em.

... did they not notice it the first go-round? How?
Looks like they played it with a very low Electrochemistry for the first time.

Y'all are nuts, my cop was just very sleepy and forgetful, there are all kinds of things that cause that. Like snitching, and snitch-related medical procedures.
I believe the restriction is there cannot be depicted any beneficial or positive effect of doing drugs, and you can get various physical and mental buffs from them in Disco

What's going to happen to my stadia games when they discontinue the service?
'fuck you' - google probably
Hey, I believe in you.
I just instantly realized that the slight differences graphical quality and input inherent to streaming meant that I hate it no matter how good it is
Then again, Steamlink doesn't have NEGATIVE LATENCY so who knows
So it's very possible they'll do the same thing if Stadia dies, at least for Ubisoft games. Will they? :rotate:

based on google's previous messaging regarding limitations with stadia and other product deployments, their response would more likely be:
"that sounds like a you problem"

There's a lot of drug use in Disco Elysium.
One of the side effects of drug use can be memory loss
Made by a team of fans and getting released by Egosoft in May, it's called X3: Farnham's Legacy
You think you're better than me or something?
once got so addicted to drugs I forgot that i was addicted to drugs
