Well played Mafia. I will say, I had Aura and Sir Fab at the top of my suspicion list as the days went on (after I was already dead). Yet again, completely unable to read JPants.

Apologies to generally everyone (especially H3 and Endless) for zero networking on my part. Game started the day I was flying home, got home to dog with diarrhea so my attention was severely divided.

Super curious what powers everyone else took.

    Thanks for running @38thDoe !

I was legit afraid of you the entire time Austin, especially after the last game.

I'm pretty sure I've been mafia like, every game forever at this point.

ugggggh, Sir Fab and JPants? You were on my "probably good" list!

Oh I absolutely had JPants on my "hard confirmed village" list, would have been a real awkward finish.

SirFab I was pretty sure was mafia but no one else was casting a skeptical eye their way so I didn't push it as hard as I probably should have. Ah well! Was a nice close game overall, very tense.

ggs! JPants you played a really brilliant game. I definitely found myself wishing I had picked a different power towards the end, Spiked Shield felt lower impact than I had hoped. Ah well!

It was such a mafia power to begin with that I couldn't resist it, but then I soft-revealed that I had it to Gizzy early on and kept thinking you guys would eventually get suspicious just that I had it!

I'm pretty sure I killed JaysonFour with it, at least.

Just want to add, I'm a big fan of the recent move to Discord for mafia instead of proboards. Haven't been mafia to try it out, but I have to imagine it's a whole lot easier to communicate.

Didn't use my soft-confirmed status until very late (sorry village), where I was too busy to properly work out with PMs who was targeting what or chatting and mafia was ignoring me. I think if I had started this earlier may have identified Sir Fab then as 3cl1ps3 raised fab, and there was inconsistencies with what aura and sir fab were saying (aura claimed full shield, sir fab claimed it was a reflect shield)

Mamawolf I didn't feel confident in anymore, you put up a good defense that you just were tired and not thinking everything through. Wanted to figure out who would otherwise be mafia. JPants still felt good about.

I dunno man I was just trying to muddy the vote records up. Didn't expect everyone to jump onto that wagon quite so gung-ho.

Technically I just told you I shielded myself. Was afraid you'd find the spikes suspicious, as above.

Also the night I was voting between H3 and kime - I was thinking wow this isn’t good, I think everyone is village.

I will note that I did not have an attack, I had a spiked shield, and it worked! Except for the one time I used it on Gizzy instead of myself and at a charge buster to the face.

Get it? Empathy man, makes you feel how he feels? Oh ho ho.

Argh, I think I should have trusted my instincts for phalla more and started railing on the three people who weren't posting at all instead of the people who were. I was following others vote analysis near the end because I had personally whiffed so much (which, granted, weren't using much reasoning except 'their logic is poor')

The scary thing is that we weren't wrong to think there were a ton of shields out there, just that the village was putting them all in one place.

Look, it's not easy for H3 and myself to have such a bad voting record. We should have been cleared just from the unlikelihood of a mafia being that sketchy!

Oh wow, completely forgot. I guess I was technically a slight village special here. I had a +1 vote power this game, which of course was super hard to use because any close votes would either look like a tie or cause one.

    @38thDoe Thanks for hosting!

I was Meteor Man, a metal robot with the spike "shield", and a Friendly Robot.

I also played terribly and the village might've been better off if I'd been voted out/killed earlier instead of some of the people who did get bumped off. That's probably why the mafia left me alive for so long. I mean, I was way off the mark on who the final mafia could be. I'd been suspecting Auralynx until I did that crazy-long vote analysis post, and then figured they were village. Sir Fab and JPants had me completely fooled the whole time.

At least my vote at the end didn't cost us the win, either wagon would've been a mafia victory.

Sorry for not networking and being more active in thread everyone.

When I was SK in the Dino and another I forgot which one, but the Dino one was most fun! I should be SK more often.

Serial Killer roles are super fun because you're often OP as fuuuuuuck to balance everything out. I've always been iffy on including them in games because they are fun for the SK, they are fun to design, but it's extremely hard for the village to figure out who it is.

Nah, soft networks are fine as long as no one puts too much trust in one. It's a good way to catch someone in a lie as people are usually willing to share more info in a PM vs the thread.

It was fun for me because I claimed to be the Vig for a while and tries to convince everyone that the person who was actually Vig was the SK. The Vig that game was also my husband @Green . Very fun, I ended up losing I believe, but I was a meteor and I had so much fun

So again thanks to 38th for hosting, this was a fun one! Always a good sign of a well balanced game when it really comes down to the wire like this, this frankly felt winnable if the village had made slightly better calls on the last day. Some thoughts on the game itself:

As others have said the, mafia played this one really well. They split their votes well, they joined wagons at smart times, it was a great effort all around. I don't think the village played badly either, but there were a few pretty inactive folks even into endgame and I think that hurt village efforts a bit, which is what it is - again, smart play from the mafia here largely going after the most active folks and leaving alive suspicious villagers and inactive villagers. This is maybe overstating my own importance but I was slightly surprised I survived until the end with how active I was after pushing two mafia wagons :D

I did see a couple folks saying they wished they had done more of their own analysis, and yeah! More village analysis is never a bad thing, the more folks we have bouncing ideas off each other and trying to find patterns the more likely you are to find mafia hiding in the votes (especially because it makes inactive folks stick out even more). As we saw this game, it's not great to have 1-2 people trying to guide the vote every night. Even if they make a couple good calls, they'll still be wrong enough that you want more sets of eyes on the choices gutchecking them (except maybe if it's Infidel but village Infidel rarely lives that long).

Regarding my own game, eh, I think I did okay. I'm pleased with the calls on Endless and Cythraul and correctly pegging kime, H3, and Mama as villagers who done played bad. I definitely started second guessing myself really badly as the game went on and talked myself out of apparently correct calls on Aura and SirFab because no one else was bringing them up so I figured I must be missing something (JPants I would never have pegged, ever, in a million years, truly just a brilliant game there). Which, again, overstating my own importance for sure.

Overall it was a fun game, really tense and down to the wire, I had a blast and I hope you all had fun as well!
