    I think there's some confusion since Japan has very different cultural perspectives on gender in general, so I'm not sure if the concepts/how they talk about them line up perfectly.

    In general, though, handled so much better than I usually expect out of Japanese studios.

    i dunno if kids Youtube is still horrifying pregnant Elsa type stuff but my nephew was watching some PJ Mask toys video recently and after a couple minutes of showcasing the toys a man's hand comes into frame and pours modeling paint on the table in front of them and then his big hairy foot comes into frame and starts smearing the paint around

    so i would say at the very least still don't let your kids watch Youtube unattended

    I do think that it's extremely cool that Arcsys is making the effort, though, especially because some of the best guilty gear players in the world are trans/nb.

    Last time I saw my niece watch youtube it was a mix of knock-off Peppa Pig type shows and "shows" that are just kids playing with cool toys.

    What I saw is that their gender is expressed with a word that means no gender as opposed to x-gender, the usual term in Japan for enbies.

    Yeah my kiddo had a phase where he was really into those weird AI-generated cartoons from Russian bot farms until we blocked them

    He was four and didn’t know anything past “Spidey + Peppa Pig + Monster Trucks = cool I guess”
