The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
So today in my morning class we were doing the Problem of Induction and talking about the Principle of the Uniformity of Nature (it’s what it says on the tin, the notion that in general the future will resemble the past ceteris peribus). I check in with everyone and one of the students says “I don’t like the idea of questioning whether nature is uniform, it’s freaking me out”
Job’s done here. We can pack it in.
Resemble the past in what sense? Like the laws of physics might be different in the future? Or in a historical, how people act, the course of events sense?
and I wonder about my neighbors even though I don't have them

I'm at my new job today! They have free snacks in the break room! Free sodas! This is wild!
The last in-person visit to an office I had was my old job like a couple weeks before the pandemic really kicked in and I still cherish the memory of deciding "I'm only in the office once a month... I think I'm justified" and taking just armfuls of snacks every time I walked past the kitchen. Ate cheetos like a bear prepping for hibernation.
only 2 more bosses to defeat and then I can be done with elden ring
I really ran out of steam at the end and just like, ran through some zones to fight the bosses because I'm ready to be done
really fun game overall tho
@credeiki I'm not sure how far you are but (late game boss spoilers)
the alecto fight that I spent hours failing was really good practice for fighting maliketh the black blade, who seems to have some similar moves (just, you know, worse) - I dropped him on my 2nd attempt
I got the all knowing tarnished guy first try, it was hilar - he's a spellcaster like me, and I just interrupted his ass constantly with a bombardment of glintstones
I think he got off 1 or 2 spells and otherwise he was just rolling to dodge or getting hammered as he tried to cast
I also read after that he's ridiculously vulernable to madness because he's tarnished like us, you can basically one shot him if you have the eye lasers

It's a full corpo gig yeah?
Yeeeep. Software support for a specialized software company basically and vaguely.
Specialized software, you say. *updates cross-references in spreadsheet*
The field of teledildonics is huge, echo.
It is long and wide.
Now Playing:
Celeste [Switch] - She'll be wrestling with inner demons when she comes...
Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age [Switch] - Sit down and watch our game play itself
I mean, I'm not super deep in se folktronica scene or anything, but I do usually enjoy the stuff I hear. So if you're looking for deep cuts then I don't have them. But considering the genre is already a deep cut for most people maybe I'm not that ignorant.
Anyhow I highly recommend Bibio's Vignetting the Compost
Or
Ambivalence Avenue

Okay, I’m going to go to bed. Elden Ring chat is back and I have another sure-to-be-meaningless sexual encounter planned for tonight. See y’all later.

teachers reacting to new corporate jobs is one of my favorite niches like holy shit we treat teachers awful
also somehow the argument about teacher labor expectations becomes entirely about teacher wages and not the other bs they go through (like providing their own supplies and paying for their own training to get meager bonuses and tons of work outside contract hours for no compensation) and not administration wages or better work/life balance??

Oh I’m not there at all; I am on a long detour to what I think is an optional area
(Miquella’s Heligtree)
It feels more dark soulsy than other areas and very fun to explore
Speaking of Alecto, the general area has some black blade assassins that are just entirely invisible and it’s pretty funny and total bullshit—similar to the one that’s invisible but has footsteps in water, but: no water!
I did manage to beat them by just sort of guessing when they would be near and cutting at the air hahaha
like yes sometimes they’d also give off little poufs of smoke but I feel like by the time you saw those it was too late, so instead it’s just me hacking wildly at nothing

I thought they weren't really meant to be fought, so much as just avoided, though there is actually an item that you can buy that makes them visible
Malenia and she sucks and I am mad about it. I have a scythe that's supposed to block healing! I have a hundred percent block shield! How come she gets to ignore those things??
Also why does every human I summon suck so much and die immediately??

My older brother is really into metal and he sends death metal to me and I'm like ...uggghhhh.
And then I send him Folktronica or something and I presume he is like.... uggghhhh.
but they're listening to every word I say
Metal and anime occupy the same space for me in that I don’t like it and I don’t get why other people like it
I’m never going to come around on it
I either want it to be pop music ala Motley Crue or completely weird unlistable prog shit like Sunn O)))
They’re a combo of Black metal and like soul/gospel I guess?

So you’re telling me to cosplay as a Guilty Gear character if I ever meet you, got it

alright, i think my HP is good now
now to start leveling my endurance
https://youtu.be/Hr8Ln26klvo
I can’t figure out where to put points when I level so I started putting them into vigor again
I don’t have nearly as respectable a bar though

Like I said, it really couldn’t be less for me
my wizard has 35 vig and it's uh, really helpful to only get 1 shot by most boss attacks instead of all boss attacks
you can occasionally heal!

They're mostly from 2003-2008, I wonder if it's worth going through them or if I should take the whole pile to a local comic book shop?
My powerful laser dong…
well they’re dead now!!!
Yes, that one is on Ambivalence Avenue. I think Fire Ant is the one with the weird kids voices on it. That one leans more electronica. good track.
