Seven deserves to be a captain. She deserves to get a cool hero tier ship. It's even fair to rename a ship so she can get one that means more.
Thing is, Enterprise means fuck all to her. It would be like the big reveal at the end of Voyage Home *WASN'T* an Enterprise.
"They gave us a ship. Even renamed her to be more meaningful to us. There it is."
Music swells. Obstructions move aside. First glimpse of the registry - NCC-17 (oh my God I'm so excited) 6 (wait what) 4 (wait go back) -A (I don't get it) U.S.S. Defiant (really what's the fucking point?).
Titan was the ship she saved the fucking galaxy in. Taking away its name is an insult. "Hey Cerritos good job on that Locarno thing, you've earned a good name now, Cerritos is a chump ship. We're going to call you USS Constitution. I'll put the paperwork through tomorrow. Grats!"
the point is that the showrunner really really wanted a TMP-era show and when the powers that be told him "no" he tried to slip one in by the back door, under cover of a buttload of TNG nostalgia.
"it's, uh, a refit... of the USS Titan. That's what Riker's ship was called, right?"
"Bullshit, that doesn't look anything like a Luna class. That's a Shangri-La, that's what it is."
"I have no idea what you're talking about. Hey look, it's Data! You love Data, right?"
"Yeah, and he died. Twice."
"Well he's back!"
I'm all for Seven getting to be a captain, I just dislike the look of the neo constitution class or whatever. And again after how they basically chumped out the F.
I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.
I started playing STO again just because I hadn't finished this assignment chain and it bothered me so...
but seriously, to see it after many, many, hours of frustration back in the day felt nice. I can only hope that the remaining assignments aren't "is this broken?" rare too.
Immediately went and got it launched on three captains. Sadly, my other captains missed this once in a blue moon event... but honestly just getting it on my main was good enough for me.
“I used to draw, hard to admit that I used to draw...”
oooh yeah~ STO is one of the few games that still discounts their premium currency in the Microsoft store during the "Black Friday" sales month too~ :O
23000 Zen for $159.99.
Thought the discount was more than that before, but eh, cheaper! woo~

We know that a lot of you out there also play Star Trek Online, and when we were approached by the team to do a cross promotion, I jumped at the chance.
So alongside the AMA, on the 21st of November, we will open up the floodgate and anyone who is an owner of Star Trek: Infinite will have a key they can use to unlock our Miranda-Class model in Star Trek Online.

Zen for STO and Neverwinter used to top out at 40% on console for Black Friday, but it's been 20% for the last couple of years.
No matter where you go...there you are. ~ Buckaroo Banzai
yeah, I used to stock up around this time... shame it's lower now, but still better than paying full price. lol
Now I can look into getting the "Checkmate" trait from one of those ships. Though it will require heresy for some one of my captains to get it cheaply. There were some other traits I read about that needed to track down too.
“I used to draw, hard to admit that I used to draw...”
...needed to farm ancient cells and the last fight on the Kobali battleground always reminds me that Kobali aren't really good at all and Vaadwaur are kind of not absolute villains for wanting to get their popsicle people back. Like, they went out of their way with the episode to ensure their leader was seen as totally evil, but yeah... shades of grey there.

Well, yeah, is Trek. Writing completely evil species would be missing the point.
What race(s) even modeled it? Or the Saturn for that matter?
Just looking at a picture of the three of them together... and if you turn the Saturn around and put it on top of the Courage, and then put those on top of the Intrepid it resembles a toilet. Don't get me wrong, I've enjoyed what I'd seen of the show so far (almost done season 2). And Section 31's ship designs were pretty cool. But these ship designs... when they miss, they miss hard.

Yeah like the designs of the current gen of starships in discovery were good/great. But like the future designs were almost as bad as enterprise.
I also like the designer of the ridiculous naceless on the voyager J claim its for like wind resistance. On a starship... IN SPACE
A lot of the mudd bundles are back up for sale and 50% off. I had to get the khitomer and jorek (the khit for looks, the jorek for one of the best if not THE best hangar pet in the game)
I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.
The Gagarin has Entwined Tactical Matrices, but the Discovery bundle has some other side things that I may be interested in too. Thanks to cross-faction heresy, I don't need the other ships.
There was another ship bundle, the legendary first strike (leggo Akira+ valdore) but there is an overlap with the discovery bundle contents too (boff).
The other stuff I want lives in "buy a bunch of promo packs/boxes and hope for grand prize" pull turf... heh.

Entwined tactical matrixes is great. Oh my sci torp boat its how I get two torp spreads back to back (use torp spread 3, and then beam fire at will when the torp spread launches). I know that someone in thread hated how the legendary akira is basically a cannon escort with a hangar, but man getting all those akira cosmetic pieces and being able to franken ship something together is pretty nice.
I finished the event campaign today so now I have my full sci boat traits. Honestly the crosspoint refit isn't even a terrible ship, though it does that untethered nacelle thing I can't fucking stand. But its a miracle worker sci ship, with a 4/3 set up, command and miracle worker seating and you get the miracle worker abilities so you can pop off those rando perks. And mixed armaments on a sci torp boat is pretty much an easy always up damage boost to have running. Though it does suck a little bit to have the miracle worker on your commander sci.

I wanted to like ETM, but it seemed to me that it was always firing off one or the other at a bad time and then leaving me on cooldown when I wanted to use a better variant of either ability that I have on my bar/boffs.

Yeah, I'm curious as to how it will play out on console (auto-trigger abilities). On my main, the bulk of my damage comes from the spaec magic, then torpedos so I don't really care when it goes off. I manually trigger my TS of course. My torp boat captain I'll probably need to adjust to accommodate should I get it...
But in theory the CSV/FAW would trigger, activate ETM-TS and then I suppose I could then do my manual TS after using the ETM-TS, which would get me back into a CSV/FAW at the end of which point I'm assuming the CSV/FAW would auto-trigger and turn the spread back on. I may be close to min cooldowns, so this rotation should work.
I've also been thinking about a mine boating since there's that relocate mine ability... or researching for now.
“I used to draw, hard to admit that I used to draw...”
For me I use Entwined Tactical Matrices with the Morphogenic Polaron set. Using Beam Fire at Will and Cannon Scatter Volley both give access to a Torpedo Spread while the morphogenic turret is able to take advantage of both energy firing modes. It does mean that every torpedo spread will be rank 1, but combined with a crafted Particle Emission Torpedo with the [Spread] mod and the Beverly Crusher Boff for a High Yield 1 on using a heal means just about every torpedo fired will benefit form some special modifier.
From Discord, it made me laugh:
On ETM, the two ways that I have seen it is either on Torpedo builds to get more High Yields, or on FAW builds since FAW doesn't have a real extension trait. On every other firing mode you are better using the actual extension trait.

ETM applies TS1, so how would it make it possible to get more HY?
Also afaik, extension abilities apply to the CSV granted by ETM too...

You are right, I mean getting some spreads between the High Yields.
And the thing is that I mean is that between things like aux2Bat, Boimler and so on, plus the extension traits, you can get 100% coverage of something like Cannon Scatter Volley III, and ETM gives you a lower rank, so.
So I was running over the numbers in my head there are like 5 different variations of the disco ship in the game and at tier 6, that's got to be up there with the OG enterprise for number of varieties.
Like Odyssey variants are more numerous if you include the sci, tac, engi varieties, but was disco that popular or did they just keep not quite making the good version of it?

I'm kind of glad the turkey day event is just running a quick tfo and not something like the halloween one.

They cycled to include the ship things, and the Imperial Rift set is now mine for 3k Zen.
I guess for some reason console got those things (update and sale cycle) before PC.

And I can't fault Cryptic for this because that is... in fact... an official Star Trek canon ship (I haven't gotten to this season in the show yet).
