Also, for some tiers the scrip gear is job specific, while crafted gear is not. So I can either have gear that only works on WVR or gear that works for all DoH. (Of course, pentamelding it out is a drain on resources, but it makes it so much easier to gear other jobs up afterwards! ...though granted, I could do it without pentamelds, I'd just need more HQ mats going in to guarantee HQ gear via macro)
Edit: I should note - I don't put many materia into my main/off-hands and do often just use scrip gear in those slots. Because I'm not going to overmeld things I can't use on every DoH if I can help it (and I can - it's not remotely necessary, and the extra stats won't make much of a dent in the formulas at that point)
very disappointed to see that the craftable crafter primary/secondary are not better than the lvl 80 white scrip gear
why did they do that?!?
Because craftable gear has a key difference - it can be overmelded.
Yeah, overmelded HQ crafted gear is going to be better than scrip gear. HOWEVER, I would get the scrip gear at any point where you have the option, because the difference really only matters at level cap with end-game crafts.
Speaking specifically about the primary / secondary tools though - NO craftable tools between 80 and 90 are better than the lvl 80 white scrip tool. You just literally do not have to craft tools for any job after 80th level.
Even the lvl80 relic primary tool is only equal at the last stage.
The lvl90 tool is better, but only barely. Really makes the interim recipes seem pointless.

Yes, endgame crafting/gathering gear in one expansion will be better than the leveling gear in the following expansion. You only have to upgrade once you hit the next level cap.
Edit: This does not apply to combat gear, which falls out about half-way through the leveling process.

yeah god I can't imagine how awful leveling up crafters through old content would be if you had to do the relic tool quests each expansion
I can't imagine doing the relic quest for every class, but it's actually a lot easier to do the old crafter tool questlines later on because you get a skill that lets you max out item quality on anything at least 10 levels blow the level cap in a single action.
Which makes crafting those items you need to grind out to turn in way easier.
I'm just bummed that there are something on the order of 100 pointless recipes from 80-89. There's no reason to make any crafting item in any discipline until you hit 90.
Yeah, the beast tribe quests and custom deliveries are both cheap ways to level crafting skills. It isn't a short process but worth doing because I enjoy the quests that happen at each new reputation level.
fuck you game, really didn't need this one right now
(Yes I know it's completely RNG)

I'm trying to get an alt promoted up into grand company ranks and getting seals is being a pain. Two more promotions before I can just start turning in equipment for them.

...and when you are done with that; take a folding
chair to Creation and then suplex the Void.
Are the Grand Company hunting logs available to you? You will need to do the quests for them to rank up anyway and they are worth a decent number of seals. Maybe swing by one of the NPCs that hands out Grand Company leves. They tend to be pretty easy and less annoying than chasing down fates.
I’m so glad I did the seasonal quest on Sunday. I usually do them on the last day due to procrastination, and I assumed that Monday would be last day, not knowing it was going to be a full 24 shutdown.
Shatter, the ice map in frontlines, got a big modification, not sure how that is gonna play. It sounds like it's going to spawn 2 big nodes to kill at once instead of one, and no small nodes until it spawns ALL the smalls at once every 7 minutes? I have no idea if that will play better, but it was definitely the least fun frontlines map left in the rotation before so I guess it couldn't be worse.

Why do you think we all love the goofball?
There's a reason why, after he revealed his fight with cancer, a certain La Nocean FATE had a bad month of it.
(the other tanktops have additional silliness attached, like 90s tribal tattoos)

You don't even HAVE to do relic tools in the expansion they're introduced it. They're just an alternative MH slot like relic weapons.

Rock Band DLC | GW:OttW - arrcd | WLD - Thortar
Like, maybe if there were clothing gear or a housing item I wanted that was actually much more cost-affordable to craft than buy pre-made off the AH.

Dear Satan.....
Not much here other than story and quests, we're getting a tribal alliance quest which I don't know if it was announced
Also a very good new mount
I miss the original version of shatter
I wish I liked tanking because those swords are so COOL
I'm not saying there are alternatives, because I, of course, would never condone breaking the terms of service.

but if there were alternatives I bet they'd work really well.
