The new forums will be named Coin Return (based on the most recent
vote)! You can check on the status and timeline of the transition to the new forums
here.
The Guiding Principles and New Rules
document is now in effect.
The current plan is to attempt to start the Holiday Forums on December 23rd sometime during the day. During this time, the Future State Planning Center will remain open. The Holiday Forum merge will last (if Vanilla cooperates) until January 3rd.

Also my concerts for the next three months:
Erra and Make Them Suffer (Playing at the TLA which sucks, but I splurged for overlooking seats so should be fun)
Sleep Token (I got great seats after sitting in queue and spamming refresh for like 20 minutes, even retail was expensive)
Knocked Loose and Loathe (Electric Factory show which I am honestly very worried for our safety lol, we'll be behind a barrier at the bar.)
Can't wait.
Twitch: KoopahTroopah - Steam: Koopah
Only think l thing I got in my cart so far is some good old fashioned Canadian emo

How about some suggestions?
Mannequin Pussy's new album is great:

And Oceanator released a single last year co-written and featuring Greg Katz of Cheekface. It's a good as the pedigree would imply:

And Chris Farren's most recent record is always a great pick. Here's an acoustic version of "Bluish" to put you in the mood:

I love that a band named "Mannequin Pussy" is part of the old guard
Funnily enough, I used to always confuse them (MP) with Weakened Friends. Who are also great, mind you! (And have a great album out on Don Giovanni Records from a couple years ago now)

deftones from back in 98 on Conans old show. No, the older one then that I mean.
What this video has:
- Skinny Chino
- Alive Chi
- Chino trying and failing to sing properly live, something that he was not accustomed to at the time as most of his vocals sounded like a horse being electrocuted prior to this (He eventually gets the knack, but the struggle is real here)
- The rest of the band just playing as hard as they can and desperately avoiding eye contact with the cameras on a small stage

I'll take any opportunity to promote one of my favourite songs in recent years, Dino's. Such a relaxing and dreamy love song.
Here is my new favourite song (not my band!)

If you don't know who he is, he's probably one of the most technically gifted drummers alive right now. Here he is just absolutely destroying a Weeknd song.

Absolutely clocking Cheat Codes to be the pacer to start with.

Very nice, signs pointing to their comeback album being a strong piece of work.

one of the good country songs and even one of the good Toby Keith songs
"I ain't as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I ever was." really speaks to me nowadays
Ogikubo Station's cover of one of my favorite TMBG songs, Dr. Worm:

Come for the gorgeous harmonies, stay for the badass kazoo solo.
I've been really into hard dance lately, esp. remixes

I think what makes me like his new song so much is how he's NOT showing off. He plays exactly what the song needs. It's honestly impressive.

I saw them at a small Atlanta venue last year, a sit and eat place, and it's honestly one of the best shows I've seen. The multi-instrumentalist they have that plays everything from the mandolin to the saw to the mouth harp is amazing.
I hate when a band changes up a song, you get a few quiet claps, then it hits a familiar part 20 seconds in and THEN everyone has to burst into applause.
And then today this single from their upcoming album dropped and it's a huge leap forward for them.

File under: Fifth Wave Emo Power Pop Punk
Recommended if you like: Paramore, Sincere Engineer, and Tiny Stills all crammed into a too-small tour van

Speaking of crying, this song popped on the playlist on the way home and never fails to hit me in the emotions.
I like listening to Lifter Puller or early Hold Steady shows because Craig will be all drunk and forget a line, but that's okay because the entire audience has been singing along with him, so they don't lose the pace.
I like shit like this. I just hate when the song is going and everyone has to applaud and completely drown out the band because they didn’t realize what song it was until too late
"How old are these kids?"
*sees a Trogdor tattoo on guy's leg*
"Ah, that old."

This is surprisingly well done, and I would definitely play a Minecraft with this music
