Speaking of mp3s, could you guys recommend a good, inexpensive app that can convert wma to mp3? I know there's plenty out there but I'd like to know what actually works well. And I realize that I can't get around DRM this way, this would be for wma's I've purchased but want to play on devices that don't play wma.

It's not really an issue I have often because I don't often purchase music downloads, but when it does come up TuneBite has served me well.
Alternately if you're in the mood to waste blank CDs I've found that if your protected WMA file can be burned to an audio CD you can burn it and then rip that CD to MP3 and you've got an unprotected MP3 file. Note that this method may have just been sheer luck on my part but it has not failed me yet.

nah, it's just to do with the fact that the ear responds more strongly to higher and lower frequencies at higher volumes. these days people boost the highs and lows a huge amount in the mix so that music sounds loud at lower volumes. then when you play it at a higher volumes, the boosted highs and lows just get ridiculously exaggerated and everything sounds like utter rape.

On my sunday i was down at the coast. Two days before i caught 2 salmon, one was around 50cm.
But my sunday sucked, it was a 3 hour drive back, and the guy driving me and my dad was, no shit, brain damaged. He starts twitching madly whenever he has to concentrate.

i'm supposed to be hanging out with a forumer today
Today I woke up, worked a 3 hour shift at EB, went home, zonked out for a good 2 or 3 hours due to lack of sleep, woke up, fed the dog, sat on my ass for awhile, made dinner, practiced guitar, cleaned out my car in anticipation of an upcoming convention, went shopping at Wal-Mart for the same reason, packed a suitcase, and now I am spending my last half-hour of the day relaxing.
An oddly productive Sunday, something about having the house to myself for a change motivated me.
I got up, watched the 3 episodes of 2057 that I Tivo'd. Played Overlord. Made some Gumbo and some Brownies. Played some more Overlord. Talked to my wife for a while on the phone. Played some more Overlord. Made this post. Played some more Overlord.
