Missed this question earlier. You can choose to sign up in a specific student number slot, or let it be given to you at random. Right now you're in the latter group. It doesn't really matter either way, since you don't know what roles or items are going to be given to each number.
And as Kitano says, being a Lover and having a Rival at the same time is cool. And yes, Love Rival is a legal combination.

He "participated" in the on-going SE++ phalla and seemed to take a shine to them.
(Which, I suppose might lead to the inevitable question: "Who am I?" The answer is: Nobody [I have started phalla-ing the past few months] )

I've gotten a few pms about the roles, so here's a quick breakdown.
The number of lone wolves in the game are determined by the number of players that will be participating, for every X players, there will be one lone wolf. Lone wolves are determined by RNG. The 1-60 slots are pre-determined items, not pre-determined roles.
If you are not a lone wolf, you will be a student. As you can imagine, most of you will be students. However, you have the option of being a lover instead of a normal student, which can happen during Day 0 (no deaths that day, location, role, item, rival and team will be figured out that day).
We've got some surprises as far as the students go that are also RNG, but that's not going to be public information from me.
Thorgot has claimed 33. You can fight him to the death over it in the game if you'd like.
For now, I'll put you down as an RNG item.
No real difference, since we will try to keep the OP updated as much as possible, for some people it might be easier to just sign up and let the RNG handle their item.
