:( New Supernatural season is on and the TV I have in my apartment doesn't have enough channels for me to watch it.

I made fun of that show enough that Frankie stopped watching it around me and instead downloaded it to her mac.

Still fighting the war on bad taste I see.

It is indeed but that doesn't answer the question. The Merriam-Webster thesaurus offers the alternative "lies".

Edit: I could see "fantasies", but that's not going to be recieved any better.

I mean you can't really expect people who don't share unfounded beliefs to pretend they're real.

I think you could probably call religious doctrine "religious doctrine."

Your problem isn't the words though, its the analysis of the phenomenon. You're irritated that other people see things differently than you.

where do you start with someone who can't even accept that other religions teachings might be fairytales of equal value? Good golly.
You can start by not calling religious stories "fairytales" for no reason other than being inflammatory.
oh, boo fucking hoo. You're all here voluntarily, if being exposed to an opposing viewpoint hurts too bad then sod off to crosswalk.

God, I'm so sick of this whining.
Did throwing insults around become accepted as "exposing someone to an opposing viewpoint"? I must have missed that memo.

Actually I'm mostly just amused by their assumption that I'm going to pretend their unfounded beliefs are real for the sake of excusing them from defending something indefensible that they willingly opted to buy into. I don't get irritated until they start to demand such pretense by way of threats. Up until that point I'm trying to withhold a chuckle and failing to hide a grin.

Edit: Oh and I'm also irritated by people using fairy tales to justify hurting people who haven't hurt anyone else. Which is huge-popular in most of the places I've lived.

Why would this not be the case? What's so hard about believing a disenfranchised Catholic who smokes a lot of pot is more likely to chuckle than get angry at people for believing silly things?

McG And Vin Diesel In Talks For Terminator 4

I dunno... it just won't be Terminator without Arnold.

Also, if this takes place shortly after T3 (which seems the case, given that Connor is just starting to organise the resistance) then it makes no sense for the terminators to jump from bulky machines on tracks to human-like models in one sudden giant leap.

I'm pretty sure most people who are indoctrinated completely, not just with the superficial rites, don't leave because they've never had anything happen to them that shake their beliefs or don't really believe but get something else out of the whole church experience.
