    Ditch the name.

No reason you couldn't make a good show on the same principle - exploring the universe etc. Seeing a humanly realistic take on exploring the universe could be pretty cool - though I think to be really creative it would be awesome to see someone tackle how we'd actually hand first contacts when you don't have the universal translator.

I don't mind the name, and the way the characters and civilizations interact is good. Reboot it a'la BSG, and it could be fucking fabulous.

I don't know - I think the name Star Trek is still too recent. I didn't know anything about the original BSG, other then the name. And then they had spaceships and flak guns and I was all "oooooh!"

Now you can't be talking about Star Trek or BSG as both of those original series were awful.

    I'm talking about Star Trek.

    And you're 100,000% wrong.

The original series of Star Trek represented exactly what I loved about Star Trek in general, something that got lost in the technobabble and politicodrama of the series (plural) that followed: human morality in alien situations. It was simple, it was elegant, the focus was on the characters, and the characters were awesome.

I'm not saying The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine were without worth and Voyager had its decent moments, but none of them really had the same character depth as the original series. What they had was a lot of character backstory or, as I like to think of it, a lot of of character filler.

Oh and I don't know if Enterprise was good or bad. I walked away from the TV halfway through the first episode of its first season, which was god-awful. Not to mention that intro song, during which I vowed never to watch the series while it remained the intro song. Enterprise was a disaster before it even started.

It's almost silly when you think of it, but the theme song was so damned bad and such an odd choice for a Star Trek series that it literally drove a lot of people away from the show. So I guess Enterprise is significant in that it may be the only show whose poorly-picked theme music was the primary or even sole cause for people not to watch the thing. It was that bad.

So about $102 USD. Yeah they're way cheaper than that here. I think videogame companies just hate Europe.

Started playing Assassins Creed on thursday, completed it last night.

Don't read unless you've completed the game or unless you are never going to play it.
the bit after the credits made me think I could escape somehow, or that maybe I could finally access that bastard scientist guys computer, but no, just the chance to go back and collect all the friggin flags. It was obvious that prior assassins wrote all that shit on the wall, and getting eagle vision at the end and looking at the writing was pretty sweet.

A lot of distributors believe that Europeans don't like games or something. D: Blizzard was one of the first companies to pay some attention to the European market with WoW, one would think that more companies would follow their lead.
