a lot of the criticism mentioned in this wiki article relates to how fixed the characteristics of the different species were (all hares are ___, all moles are ___, etc.)
I think that was one of my favorite things when I read them
it made it so easy to get to know the characters no matter what time period the book was set in, and I fucking loved those moles
In 1996, Evelyn Swenson composed an opera based on the first book in the Redwall series. It was produced by Opera Delaware in Wilmington, DE and later toured Europe.[15]

I wonder how many furries were born from their love of Redwall...
I am shocked that Redwall hasn't gotten turned into a CG movie yet.
CG movies suck. Need to find whoever did Watership Down, have them animate it. I seem to remember parts of the book to be rather brutal, so hopefully it would serve as good character building for yet another generation.

They'd need character to build on. If my generation is any indicator, the next batch won't brew up just right, savvy?

I'm using "character building" in the C&H sense. Read it as "nightmare fuel" if you want.

Furries tend to like stylized, humanoid animals - big eyes, perfect upright posture, skin that's not actually furry but just funny-colored. Really, the only thing they keep around are ears, tail, and sometimes paws. I would rather see a Redwall animated with almost-realism (excepting bipedalism). Again, Watership Down - from the screenshots remembered, it had rabbits rendered to ink instead of just little fat people with long ears.

Oh my god
oh my god
SE++: I hope you have a good reason for calling me away from my... "duties"
Tossrock: Your MSPaint can wait... you need to see this
SE++: I know all about de Redwall, we've all seen the tapes a hundred-
Tossrock: YOU KNOW NOTHING
What I'm saying here is I read pretty much every single one of those fuckers in like two days each
Man, these books were all kinds of awesome. I moved straight from Redwall onto WoT; I pretty much spent much of my younger reading years on those two series.

Sean Connery?
I forgot how good looking a dude Errol Flynn was
Yes. Now I want to read those books again, hope I didn't give them away to some kid.
back when I was in, like, the fifth grade

I always pictured it as this sword.
It made the battles in my head so much better. Swinging that massive blade around, cutting vermin in half.
I for one am shocked, shocked, that denizens of SE++ would reminisce about their childhoods.

Hopefully they'd go the slightly dark, pg-13 route with it and satisfy all of the now-adult or late-teens fans.
I don't know why.
I mean it's got talking animals, adventure and is somewhat kid friendly.
Perfect CG Children's movie material.
Not saying that it would be good.
Just that it seems like a likely choice.
short funny accent hated water good at digging
they were just dwarves
that said I recall "mole logic" being consistently awesome

what a great book
now that I could see myself re-reading
edit: I guess if I wanted to be reminded of watership down I could have just read the posts above mine but anyway it's still fucking great

I dunno, the furries alone...

Marlfox was 4th, 5th grade or so. Whatever that would be.
EDIT: yeah, 9-11 sounds right. After Marlfox were ones I picked up on a whim when older.
Also, James Patterson and Dean Koontz and Stephen King.
It is as if you are me.
Read them, they're really good. They're really short, so you should be able to finish one in only a couple hours.
He wrote a lot of books about organic food. :V
Oh man, Salvatore is so bad.
