I don't think anything else real amazing is coming out this year
so I figured we could share opinions on our "games of the year"
now, I know this isn't g+t but I am assuming most of you own one videogame system or another
so surely you have some sort of opinion or something
anyways I'll start with the big one
GAME OF THE YEAR - OVERALL
Mass Effect. Oh yes. It has story, replayability, fun combat, and awesome graphics. If polygamy and marrying an inanimate object were legal, rest assured this game would be my second wife.
GAME OF THE YEAR - PS3
Uh... I don't own one. I figured I could put this here and one of you five guys who own one could fill it in, I dunno.
GAME OF THE YEAR - WII
Gotta be Super Mario Galaxy. Mario shall never steer you wrong. All whimsical and shit.
GAME OF THE YEAR - XBOX 360
I guess I don't get to say Mass Effect again, so I'll go with the Orange Box. Which isn't really fair since it's actually five games. But still.
SURPRISE OF THE YEAR
I'm gonna say Portal. Yeah, I know some of you were on this game's dick like, a year ago, but it was completely under my radar until I actually played it. It is awesome.
SPORTS GAME OF THE YEAR
Madden NFL '08. Yes, boo, hiss, madden frat boy teh fagz lol ea sux. I've had sort of a love/hate relationship with Madden ever since they killed the NFL 2k series, but this game, combined with the disappointment that was All-Pro Football 2k8, turned it into straight, gay love.
FIGHTING GAME OF THE YEAR
Slim, slim pickin's. Virtua Fighter 5 wins by default, and also by being awesome. I would totally put DBZ BT 3 here, but I haven't played it and even though I know it will be face-meltingly awesome, I feel I would be doing you fine people a disservice.
RPG OF THE YEAR
MASS EFFECT. Japan has nothing on Bioware. Fucking nothing.
FPS OF THE YEAR
Man, this one's fucking difficult. I don't even like FPS' and there's at least 3 I would put here. I'm going to say Bioshock, because man, the atmosphere and story in that game are pretty great.
ADVENTURE GAME OF THE YEAR
God Of War 2. It is delicious to kill things with an angry chalky bald greek man.
PLATFORMER GAME OF THE YEAR
Well, I can't think of anything that beats Super Mario Galaxy, so there you go.
MULTIPLAYER GAME OF THE YEAR
Halo 3. Even if you hate Halo and all its ilk (like I did before I played this), you must admit they have multiplayer down to a fuckin' science.
PUZZLE GAME OF THE YEAR
Puzzle Quest. Coming soon to anything with a fucking screen on it.
HANDHELD GAME OF THE YEAR
Pokemon Diamond/Pearl. GIRL YOU KNOW IT'S TRUE.
BEST 360 ACHIEVEMENT OF THE YEAR
PGR4, for 3CZV657 - drive the delorean faster than 88 miles per hour, at night, when lightning strikes.
WORST GAME OF THE YEAR
Beowulf. UGH WHY DID I RENT YOU THANKS FOR THE EASY ACHIEVEMENT POINTS BUT I CAN'T GET THE TASTE OF SHIT OUT OF MY MOUTH

I have Persona 3, and it is a very good game, but Mass Effect kicks it in the mouth and makes it cry for mommy.
