    yeah I don't know how well medieval armor would stand up to a gunshot

    they didn't really have to worry about that kind of force back then

    Mounted knights would probably have pretty like plate armor with a lot of joints exposed. A bullet would easily pierce even the chest region with a single shot. And even if the mail underlay stopped the bullet the force would absolutely knock him flat on his ass.
